Tinkersofi's Planning Thread - Azul Fives August 13, 2015

Now that I've seen your tables again I vote #1 all the way!! It's way more vintage than the chevron pattern. Just my 2 cents. Man I miss planning :) but on the flip side I don't hehe

Juan decided on #1 as well :D so #1 it is. You ladies are right @@calgarybride2015 @snswedding2016 , the more I looked at it the more I felt like it was the best fitting one for the wedding. I love chevron but it's kinda late now to incorporate it and I have nothing else that goes with it. The frame on the black sign actually also goes really well with some little swirls I had on the invitations.

I will definitely miss the planning but I think more than the planning itself I'll miss the projects. I've started stashing a bunch of sewing projects to get into after all this is done :). Maybe I can also learn a new type of dance when all my money isn't being sucked into the wedding haha.

We finished stencilling our OOT bags today! yay! It was the first time Juan helped me out with them and all he'd say at first was "wow this is so much work" "why don't we just send them to get printed" "I can't believe I agreed to this". This is the guy who asked me not to finish all of them because he wanted to help. I basically told him to either shut up and help or leave me to it haha so then he got into it :P

I totally love #2 lol Could you ad a touch of colour to #1? Make it pop a little bit? Love the design and the font together. Looks great!

lol I did check out the shoes and saw the light blue! They're gorgeous!! Believe me, i thought about it for about a second lol I wouldn't do that to you! But they really are gorgeous!! I'm hoping to find a bright blue if I can and hopefully with some sparkle similar to yours! Let the search begin! lol

You should totally get them! I really don't mind. It's not like we're going to be wearing them at the same time ;) and they're so beautiful. Originally I also wanted  to have royal blue shoes but I couldn't find any that weren't super high and then eventually I just decided to go for silver/champagne. Then I found the pink ones and I fell in love :D

I just remembered something about the signs, with our package for the tables we get these menus that are in periwinkle and blush pink. I'll see if I can recreate something different. Juan will not like this because he'll say "i thought we had made a decision already" haha. I just always have to keep trying.

I love the first guestbook (#1) :)

Thanks! That's the one Juan liked too. I'll head to the dollar stores and wal-mart today to see if I can find any frameless picture frames to put them in so they're not blowing all over the place. I also have to make the same sign saying photobooth and to indicate for people to find their fans.

@@calgarybride2015 I love the saying that you put up there about "Stay cool, be cool" (oops, sorry it was "to stay cool, to make you cool" haha) I really want to use it. Now my dilemma is, the fans will have the person's name and their table number for the reception, but they'll be getting them during the ceremony. Do you think it would be confusing if you pick up your fan and it says XXX table 1 but there are no tables, or is it pretty self-explanatory? Should I add a sign about it? I always think things are kind of common sense but apparently common sense is the least common sense of all :P. Or should I just think of a new seating chart all together?

I honestly can't talk with anyone else about these little silly things because everyone says "you're overplanning". Maybe I am, but I need to know these things! haha. You guys understand though.

This is where I saw that idea (I went back and found the page!) It's at the very bottom of the page, and I believe if you go to the next page and watch her highlight video it shows them in action -- but I could be wrong. Her whole thread was good!

I think people know enough about weddings that they would be able to figure it out!  If you wanted, you could put 'Reception Table One' or something to make it quite clear, but I honestly believe people will get it.   Even more so when they show up and go 'which table should I sit at, hang on I saw that somewhere already!'

I think the idea is fantastic.  Can't wait to see what you decide and how you put it all together.

aww that looked so cute! I need to use this haha. I won't have the sunglasses there but i'm sure I can make it work anyway :). I'm sure our friends are pretty smart to figure it out, and I honestly don't want to put "instructions" on how to read some freaking fans haha. That would just be ridiculous. I need to give people more credit :P

I've been so MIA this past week. I've been so busy that I haven't even really been on the computer much. Just a quick update before I have to run again: the shoes are here!! The pink ones are too big as I had predicted but I really don't know what color is prettier. They have the pink ones in my size now so it'd just be a matter of exchanging them. They are truly gorgeous and Soo comfortable. I don't even think I need to break them in all that much. The sole is leather, so dancing approved haha but holy! that thing is slippery on carpet lol. The bottom is cushioned so it doesn't feel like you're walking on blocks of wood and they are pretty flexible so, super comfy. I might like the champagne ones better, how they look on me, but I really don't know. I attached some pictures: post-265511-142931641253_thumb.jpgpost-265511-142931642649_thumb.jpgpost-265511-142931643277_thumb.jpg

I love them both but I may side with you and like the champagne ones better. For the wedding and for wear down the road (color goes with more outfits). Can't go wrong with either though. Love them. Oh ps - will be 'neighbours' for a month or so before you move! We are moving to Coventry in a month :)

@@TinkerSofi I love both of them too! I'm a sucker for brightly coloured shoes but I actually like the champagne ones more. I like the sparkle of the champagne. I don't know if you'll be walking on carpet at all at the resort but you can always buy grips from Walmart that you just stick to the sole for traction. I would also suggest getting some foot petals for the balls of you feet. It may be me but if it's hot, my feet can sweat and if I'm in heels, my feet sometimes slips and you get the ugly toe hang lol. These will keep your feet in place

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
