Marinah84's Planning Thread - 3/14/15 - Crown Paradise Club Cancun

I'm guessing it's fairly normal for brides to have nightmares like these before the wedding - someone actually told me that they didn't think I should have any stress, since it was a destination wedding.  I laughed and told her "it's still a wedding, and it involves planning/coordination/etc PLUS the language barrier!".  Oi!

I'm lazy, but it's more that I don't want to edit my book I made (almost a year ago lol) in terms of updating info - but mostly printing so it looks good.  It was such a hassle with the coloring book, and this is like a 20 pg little book!

I kind of want to do the book just because I have spent time on it, and it has a great section for guest names/rooms plus resort info already, and puzzles/games!  I work on the computer, so theoretically in between meetings it shouldn't take me toooooo horribly long to fix it - I'm just stubborn ha!  It'll honestly probably take me longer to remake a brochure with the info than it will to fix the margins :)

@@TinkerSofi - you are TINY!!!  I wouldn't worry about your muscle mass at all (if you were, which I don't think you were, but just in case!).

When I swam, I seriously had delts like a football player.  I didn't work out for YEARS because I wanted to lose the muscle (which I did, but also gained fat haha).  I am definitely talking to Samuel about how to de-emphasis them in my photos (I wouldn't say no to a little photoshop, bahahaha).  It is what it is - I'm just happy that I have a corset for the swelling!  I'm kind of worried now for the wedding band, when we put them on, if my fingers will be too swollen...didn't even think about it LOL

I did just send off my wedding band to be duplicated for the anniversary band.  That was scary, mailing it to the jeweler.  It got there ok, and they have promised to have it back before we leave for the wedding!

that makes sense. Sometimes I find i'm procrastinating things that I actually like to do or want to do! like putting together some of the bouquets and things like that. It's weird how that happens.

You know I did think about how in the world this ring will fit on my finger hahah. When I went to NYC in July I couldn't take my e-ring off while I was there because my hands were so swollen. I'm going to keep a bottle/cup of water and lemon by my side all day, hopefully every day and maybe put my and in a bucket of ice before heading to the ceremony hahah.

What a great idea, I hope I can remember to do that - I'm going to limit my sun exposure AND alcohol intake until the reception!  Then I don't care if I gain 10lbs the last 5 days, ha!  Getting in on Wednesday and married on Saturday makes it tougher, but I am determined!

I had a nightmare last week that I was stood up at the alter and then my father was there in a Maple Leafs Jersey and splash pants. I'm not sure what part was more terrifying.

Bahaha the maple leafs jersey is terrifying. :P hubby is a die hard leafs fan and love to tease him

I didn't limit anything and even with my dress stress it still did up!! Haha ok we struggled :)

I was soooo thankful to sleep again once the wedding was over but truth be told I had no issues and/or nightmares while in Mexico.

I swear people think DW are free too.

yeah we arrive on sunday and don't get married until thursday. I'm not much of a drinker because I'm such a cheap drunk haha, it's the buffets that get me :P. Usually I can offset the eating by swimming all day though.

Haha I tried to lightly watch my food/drink intake before the wedding as well.  Prob. a good thing otherwise I'd have come 10lbs more

Same Kim.  So much anxiety before we left for Mexico but once we got there most of the nerves and stress went away :).

The good thing for us w/ the wedding is we did a church wedding first so we kind of had a trial run before.  In the church wedding, we couldn't even get the rings on properlyso we knew for the real wedding ceremony to just put it on the other person's finger and then we helped push it up ourselves.  It looked a lot more fluid than trying to jam it on each other's fingers

Mini Update 2.17.15

Lash Extensions:

I got my eyelash extensions today!  I thought she was going to take a before/after, but apparently not.  So here's the "after".  I got the natural looking fill - she told me my lashes were already really long, so she worked more on volume.  I think they look very natural, but I definitely want the vavavooom look for my wedding, so will get the fuller set when I get my fill in 3 weeks!  I won't keep it up, I don't think, since honestly I get similar results with mascara (especially the Younique fiber lashes). But I also have long lashes already so it's probably not normal!

Here's the after:

Here's the type that she put on:

I think it'll be nice because I don't have to wear mascara (long light lashes meant I always felt like I needed to wear some mascara), and it's very natural looking.

Programs, Menus & Guest Wedding Day Timelines

I put in my order with Vistaprint today, too, woohoo!  I chose economy shipping, so it should be here in around 10 days (2/27).  I'm hoping nothing else changes in that time - if so, I'll probably use a sharpie ;)  haha

I already found 1 small issue on the program, but I don't really mind.  I (for some reason) put that my middle bridesmaid is "friend of the groom" - which she IS, but she's one of my BFFs so...oops.  No one will notice LOL.  I think it's because before, I had his sister in that spot, and didn't really check when I was updating.  Not going to stress about it!

Programs - had them printed on Vertical Oversized Postcards.  Was going to do fans, but didn't want to have to order 2x the postcards and glue them together.  So will probably just keep it simple!  These will go ont he chairs at the reception - maybe a chair "packet" because of the wind, to combine with the sunglasses & shotglass for the toast?

Menu - These will go on the reception table, ideally with the maracas if we get them.  I printed these on rack cards.

Menu Back - I spy reception game, to encourage guest photos!:

Guest Timeline: I plan on putting these in the OOT bags; the front is the actual day timeline, and the back is the Wedpics photo sharing app info.  I want to make sure that I get guest photos, so am planning on making sure they at least have the information!  I printed these on small postcards.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
