The Hardest Part Of A Destination Wedding

Recommended Posts

@ SamanthaC had about 40pple pay their $200 deposits which were due March 31. Final payment is due July 30 and I have about 10 pple that have paid their deposits tell me they don't think they can come due to financial issues!!

@ ASAtobe thank you for that!! It's amazing to know we all are experiencing the same issues. After this conversation with you guys I feel soooooooo much better

I originally booked 30 rooms due to not knowing the # of pple wanting to come. My Travel Agent had to ask for more rooms to be added to that number though it was decreased with guests cxling now

@ SamanthaC I agree and I'm grateful for that...but.. a lot of our close friends and fam are not coming. Do you have a wedding website?

@@keezy Yes that is one of the hardest parts! 80% of our coming list is my FI friends/family which is funny because i figured it would be the other way around because i am really close to my friends and some of my family.

yes we do :)

@ SamanthaC thank you! Are you doing a wedding registry & bridal shower? FI doesn't want one (wedding registry) and actually don't think I want one either! I know for a fact my Mom and sis are going to throw me the shower no matter what!

@@keezy i told all my girlies no because i figured everyone would be spending enough money coming to the wedding and showers and stuff cost money. I did tell them all the girls would go for dinner at the resort and dancing the night before the wedding as like a " bachelorette party" type thing. Honestly i decided that because i 100% DO NOT trust my friends not to have strippers and this way they can't cause we will be in another country lol!! But as it is right now like none of my friends are coming so I am wondering if they will throw me something i still hope that they don't but i would rather a bridal shower from them then a bachelorette party.

As for the registry i am not making one i will however make one for our AHR and have it listed on those invitations.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
