Wedding Dress Shopping By Yourself?

I am having the same dilemma. I am from Boston but we moved to Houston in August. I was also worried about what to do when it came time for dress shopping as all my family and friends are back home in MA. I have one friend from Boston who moved here a year before me, so I could take her, but I feel like for something so special I want my closest friends and family. So I have decided to just fly home around January or February to go dress shopping with my mom since we are doing a destination wedding she won't have much else to look forward to with the planning process :) I will probably go try on dresses and pick one, and if they allow me to order it and have it shipped here - I will. Otherwise I will have to pick the dress, find it at a bridal shop here, and order it here. I do sort of want to go dress shopping on my own for the first time - but I am wanting to lose a bit more weight before I go shopping :)

haha thanks @@csho. I am heading to Edmonton tomorrow to try on some dresses to see how it goes. I will try this one on first and if it doesn't flatter, then I will move on to something else.

@@kcole123 - Pretty! Definitely try it on!! I'm drawn to mermaid/trumpet/fit and flare styles too, and I was really afraid before I tried them on that they wouldn't look good because I'm NOT tall and

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
