Wedding Dress Shopping By Yourself?

Recommended Posts

@@kcole123 Hopefully you are making progress with your dress shopping. I just got my dress last weekend after feeling very frustrated as well. I ended up with a sweetheart lace dress by Allure (Allure Ascher if you google it).

The one think I would say is to remember that alterations can do wonderful things to really make the dress fit YOU perfectly. It is such a long process but once you find the one, you will know (just like your FI  ;) ).

GL and keep us posted!

HI @@nina1116

Thank you. I am looking for a sweetheart lace. Well see what it looks like on me I guess. But that's the kind I like. Would you mind posting a picture of your dress? I would love to see it?

@@tygrrlily,

One of the dresses that I love is Casablanca 1975. I don't know how to post a picture of it. The other dress is a custom-made, couture dress so unless I purchase it, we can't take photos of it.... which makes it difficult to decide!

That is a gorgeous dress! It that "the dress"?

I agree, the consultants really do make a difference!

@@pddcmc - The Casablanca 1975 is gorgeous - love the dip in the back! I'm dying to see the other one - custom made, couture sounds amazing already :)

I was really respectful of the no camera thing (even though I hate that rule), but toward the end I have to admit we snuck some pics. It's SO hard to decide otherwise, and I needed to see how the dresses photographed.

Yes it's the dress! I bought a sample dress so it's already in my closet! :)

I'm now veil, shoe and accessory shopping

Well Ladies,

I found my dress. I ordered it yesterday at The Bridal House in Edmonton. Of course the sample dress I tried on is a little big in the bust and it's really long. So keep that in mind. I can't wait to get my dress now and get it altered to fit me perfectly.

Oh and I am looking for a different belt. That is just one they had in the store something similar to what I am looking for. I just wanted to have something on because I knew I wanted a belt anyway.

I love the Casablanca 1975! I keep going back and forth from a lace dress to a more fitting silk sweetheart dress. I guess ill just have to try them both on next month when i go dress shopping :)

I to moved far away from home recently and have no one to dress shop with out here- plus dress shops in the panhandle of texas aren't the greatest. But i'm flying back home (FL) so much this year (3 of my bridesmaids are getting married within the same year!) that i'm taking advantage of the frequent trips back home and doing my dress shopping while i'm there for their showers/bachlorette parties and weddings.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
