I am totally opposite, I like the men more casual!  Making fiance wear a suit seems mean as it will be hotter than heck!  But I totally understand both sides, thankfully that's why we all get to choose ourselves :)

So I brought fiance out last night.  OK we didn't go for the golf shirts, I realized they were just a bit too casual.

He had a white patterned shirt and something about the white drove me nuts.  It's such a beautiful location and he's just in white - how boring!!   He also felt it was off balanced as girls in pink, Kim in white, then the whole men's side in white.    So we chose the same shirt but in a bright/turquoise blue.  It still isn't 100% my vision, but it's a lot better than the white shirts.    I am content with them as we have no other options. Summer is leaving us and you can't find short sleeved shirts much anymore.   Now to decide is bouts will look good on the shirts!

I'm tentatively planning on khaki coloured pants (might try to find linen ones) and a long sleeve button up collared shirt, with the sleeves rolled up. Tucked or untucked is a fight for another day.

www.studiosuits.com  my FI is leaning towards SOMETHING on this site. He is pickier than me, if you can believe it so he is debating linen pants and vest or linen pants, vest, with jacket for ceremony. He knows he wants to do the linen option so he is comfortable but they have options to line the linen as well which is nice.

I'm definitely leaning towards the more formal and so is my fiance. Our dress code is also semi-formal. I guess it would be different if we were doing any of our wedding events on the beach but they're all in a terrace and I just don't like it when people look like they stepped out of the beach and went to a wedding. I don't know, is that mean to make people dress up with the heat? The wedding is in August but everything is in the evening.

It's your wedding! but it's a tough question.

We are 100% on the beach. I personally would feel bad asking people to wear a suit, even fiance, but that is for our wedding and everyone has different opinions.  Since you aren't on the beach and possibly are sheltered from the sun more I don't think it's unreasonable.

I couldn't imagine fiance wearing long sleeves, and if he was just to roll them up then he may as well be in a short sleeve. We are going more for casual over formal anyways!  But lots of tough decisions to make.

we're definitely going for rolled up sleeves too haha. The poor guy would be miserable otherwise :P. He says he's going to wear the suit for the ceremony and pictures but I've finally convinced him to get a vest just in case it's too hot the day of and he can't stand the suit. He will probably wear it again anyway :). I don't mind people wearing short sleeves or dressing less formal than us, of course, but I just felt like putting a dress code was almost necessary. There's always the one person that shows up in shorts and sandals or on a beach dress. It is a tough decision for sure.

We listed a dress code, but I think it consisted of 'a nice shirt and shorts or a summer dress is more than perfect'  haha!!  I asked for what you don't want, eek!  Are you really against people wearing sandals? You can get some nice ones. I can't really say 'no sandals' when the entire wedding party will be in them!

I told fiance I would be pissed if someone showed up in swim shorts, but he thinks we are fairly safe.

I guess it really depends on the sandals, some are totally fine and it also depends on the shorts, there are some really nice shorts as well. Most of our friends dress nicely so I don't think we should be worried. I've just seen some pictures of weddings that it honestly looks like some people were lounging on the beach all day and then they went and sat down for the wedding hahah.
