@Lissie88, my wedding is in April 2015 and I went to the BDR in September. I had already made by reservation when I went, but I think it was defiantly worth it! I changed my ceremony location because of this. If you are interested in any other Karisma hotels they will take you to those locations as well. I think someone already mentioned this, but if you book within 30 days of going to a BDR you get like $500 of your banquet menu, or something like that! Huge!

@@JuliaS I want to wait until i attend the BDR before i book because of the perk you get (discount) but I'm dying to just book already!! Im excited to go! I also want to see just how "public" the ceremony space on the beach is...I always envisioned a ceremony on the beach but it seems like all the sunbathers are just a few feet away from you and your guests. I don't know how much that will bother me but my fiancé is not feeling it lol

@@Lissie88 they will tell brides at the BdR that you get the $500 even if you already booked. You don't have to wait. There is no 30 day restriction. (Unless this has changed since I attended earlier this summer)

Hey ladies,

Happy holidays to all of you!

I am about to sign my contract for a May 2016 wedding at Azul Fives so I'm super excited about that, its like a christmas gift to me! lol

I have a couple questions though...Have any of you past brides had a problem with the hotel overbooking for the time of your wedding and having your guests being sent to another hotel? I read this from a review on TripAdvisor and now I'm wondering how often this happens?!?!

Also... How much are your guests being quoted for their stay? I am checking the actual Karisma website and prices are a bit high and I am starting to wonder if my guests will be able to afford this hotel because i pretty much have my heart set on it! I am working with a TA but i havant really discussed this much with her but i will now!

@@Lissie88 I'm not sure about the whole overbooking thing. Although for your guests that booked with your wedding group I really doubt they would separate the group and send them somewhere else. It might happen for people who go on their own and during very high season.

For trips our group got quoted around $1500 for a deluxe room with taxes incl. or $1700 for a one bedroom suite. I'm from Canada, so these prices include airfare as things are a bit different here. We're traveling in August. I suggest you find out the prices before you book as this might be a deal breaker (at least it would have been for us). Also, if you're working with a Karisma GI certified TA she'll be able to reserve your date and get in contact with the hotel without you having to contact them directly. You also get extra perks by working with one of them :). The way it works is that the TA will block rooms for you at a rate and people will have a certain amount of time to book. She'll then take care of reserving the wedding date with the hotel.

@ I really love pictures with soft colors and that capture the natural moments throughout the wedding and yours captured just that. The fiance saw them and he really liked them too :).

Did you get your make-up done by the hotel spa? What did you think? Did you get them to come to your room and if you did, was that worth it?

Aghh! So many pressing questions! hahah

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
