Hi Mark!

We're still working on our playlist but these are our current ideas:

We're not having a wedding party, so our parents/grandparents will be walking to "Here comes the sun" - Beatles
Bridal entrance - "Air" (from Water Music Suite)

And for the entrance we have a couple choices...

-          Better Together – Jack Johnson

-          You make my dreams- Hall and Oates

-          Signed sealed delivered – Stevie wonder

-          I do – the Marvelows

I think it depends on where you're having your wedding. We got married in Jamaica but couldn't afford the price for the steel drum band so I found steel drum music online that was exactly what we wanted. It cost me $6, which is a long way from the $800 that was being charged at that time. it worked perfectly and we still had the "jamaican feel" to our wedding music.

You could almost do the same thing if you wanted to for Mexican music if that's where your wedding is, and depending on how cultural you want to get. If you're looking for first dance songs, there is a whole thread on this site with the contributions made on song titles.

Good luck and happy planning!

Hello! My bridesmaids walked down the aisle to Kiss the Girl from The Little Mermaid, I was supposed to walk to Somewhere over the Rainbow by Israel K, but the DJ kept playing Kiss the Girl. Oh well no biggie. Then he did play Somwhere over the Rainbow for the recessional when ceremony was done. Our first dance was At Last by Etta James, and I danced with my Dad to The Way You Look Tonight by Michael Buble. We were very happy with all our choices :)

Good luck, there are so many beautiful songs out there to choose from, I had the hardest time!

@@jackshayne0123 I love hearing that your bridesmaids walked down to Kiss the Girl! My sister is officiating our ceremony as we're just doing a symbolic one and she kept saying she was going to sing this song. BUt I love that you actually used it!

Thanks @@csho! I had a different song picked out, and then I saw on here someone else chose Kiss the Girl and I freaked out! It was a total lightbulb moment. I LOVED it, it set a light, fun, romantic tone. And my girls loved walking to it too!

  • 2 weeks later...

does anyone know how many song you actually need for the whole cerimony?

i was thinking 1 or 2 for the processional (people being seated)

1 for the bride walking down the isle

Maybe 1 while we sign the documents etc

and 1 for the recessional (end of cerimony)

can anyone confirm or suggest otherwise?!

Oh yeah, we also had my best friend and her husband sing and play guitar while we signed our papers, they sang A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. I cried through their whole performance, it was absolutely beautiful.

@@mark82 I think you've got everything covered, that's how many songs we used, you should be good to go with those!

I'm planning to walk down the aisle to over the rainbow/what a wonderful world by Israel K, and I'm trying to find other songs with a similar feel to them. I like I'm Yours by the Vitamin String Quartet for the signing of the papers, maybe? or "You're so cool" from True Romance?  I really like "wonderful tonight" by Vitamin String Quartet as well, but I don't know if it's too drastic a change from the other songs.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
