Hello wonderful past and future DW brides! I was looking for more recent reviews of Styling Trio for makeup and hair. I've seen some threads from 2011 and so but I'm wondering if anyone have any insight recently?

From reading previous reviews, it seems that their rates change quite often. Is anyone willing to say what they paid or were quoted? You can send me a message if you'd like. I have prices via email but I want to make sure it's consistent. Does anyone know if these rates are at all negotiable?

Lastly, is it really worth it to have Adrian himself (for the highest cost) or does his team do just as well?

I'm not sure about that makeup team as I haven't gotten that far. My wedding is in two months in Cancun and I just want to say EVERYTHING has been negotiable for us so far. Especially contacting who our hotel uses ourselves then going back to the WC with that price. The videographer, photographer, florist, and DJ have all had significantly cheaper prices than what our WC quoted us and it hasn't been an issue when we come back  with a lower price. Just a helpful  hint to the brides out there!

Hi Maggie,

where are you getting married? im finding my resort prices for cakes, dj, etc outrageous! ive contacted several outside vendors who are giving me practical prices.  Im waiting to hear back from corporate about my quotes.  the approved vendor quoted me $400 for a centerpiece while an outside florist can do all my flowers for that price! Its crazy

Hi Talicea,

I'm getting married at Secrets the Vine, we are allowed outside vendors on certain things. So for florists I'm doing outside. But what I did for everything is I would get the name of the videographer and contact him directly and get his actual cost from him then go back to WC and say this is what I was quoted and she would agree to that. Then with our DJ I had told her we found a guy for X dollars then she said we couldn't use an external so I asked her to have a conversation with their DJ and see if they can match that price which they did.

Where are you getting married? What have you tried so far to save costs?

Hi Ladies,

I just came back from my wedding at Playacar Palace and used Styling Trio for my hair & make-up. I did a trial with them and met Adrian (super nice!) and had Bianca on my make-up and Nadia for my hair. They did a fantastic job! I'm not a girl that wears a lot of makeup normally but I was super happy with how everything came out. They replicated everything perfectly from the trial on the day of and it came out amazing. Every girl wants to look like a princess on their wedding day and they made it happen! I had 4 bridesmaids and  3 moms getting hair & makeup done. With so many different personalities, age ranges, and personal styles, the team was really attentive to each individual's wants and everyone was super happy. If there was something they didnt  like, they were totally comfortable approaching the team and asking for this and that to be changed.

When making my decision, I looked into a few other vendors but my photographer, Ivan Luckie, said hands down, go with Styling Trio. After hearing that review and checking out Styling Trio online (facebook, pinterest, their website), it was one of the few items I decided to splurge on. My fiance wasn't too thrilled about the bill but his look and the breathless "WOW!" I got from our first look was priceless. Just book them already!!!

I know I'm taking styling trio. I've already decided that. I just need to get to that point this fall to know for sure that we're able to go ahead next year so that I can book them!

Here is my review of them as well as a video of their work:

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! Showed up ON TIME, worked quickly, LISTENED to everything I had to say and NAILED my hair and makeup, friendly, fashionable… I absolutely loved them. I used to get my hair and makeup done professionally as a model and they were even better than the American professionals I was used to working with. Worth every penny!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
