Royalton Punta Cana 2014

Recommended Posts

@@Mrsoats I'm planning on having guests stay at either the Royalton or Now Larimar next May with our reception being held at Jellyfish. I got quotes from Kukua as well but based on pics was drawn to Jellyfish. Since you visited all the places I'm wondering if you have any insight on Now Larimar vs. Royalton (even though you didn't stay there, i'm glad to hear the food was great!). What were your thoughts in terms of space at the Jellyfish ( we are going to have around 100 guests which they said they can accomodate but I'm not sure if it will be too tight).

Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks so much,

Nikita

I liked Royalton better for a couple reasons.... Newer, I found each and every worker was very smiley and wanted to chat with you while I found some Now Larimar employees were not so nice and pleasant. The rooms were fine in Now Larimar and standard rooms come with a jacuzzi while Royaltons don't but Royaltons are brand new. You have to beware of the new section at Now, its very far from the beach while all the Royalton rooms are centrally located. You get free wifi all over the resort including on the beach which I know isn't too important but for some it is. You can get wifi at Now larimar for $60 a week. Don't forget the awesome splash park! It was great for adults and children. I think there was 7 different large waterslides, plus a wave pool and a kiddie park...great for all ages and no lines up. I liked the crowd better at Royalton, I found there were less english speaking guests at Now. The perks for Now would be that its closer to Jellyfish for you and I did find the buffet was a little more americanized than Memories. I unfortunately did not go into Royalton's buffet. That being said I enjoyed Royalton's a la cartes way more than Now.

100 guests, thats awesome! Hmmm hard to say... I'm sure they've had that many guests before...you definitely cannot have the dance floor inside... Have you asked Mayte or Isaac about capacity? Would they put some of your guests upstairs? I have lots of photos if you want me to email them.

Its cool that we are both getting married next May and struggling between the exact same resorts and outside venues! When in May are you having your wedding? Let me know if I can help with group quotes for your guests (I'm a travel agent) as I'm dealing with that right now for myself :)

@@Mrsoats can you please email me your pictures of the jellyfish and the royalton? Also, you being a travél agent, when do you think its the cheapest time for a destination wedding in punta cana? I am trying to keep it below 2k for my guest but with everyone leaving from different cities it's quite challenging.. My email is [email protected].. Any input would be appreciate it :)

Has anyone used the on site photographers? I'm trying to find a reasonable photographer for my wedding at the Royalton!

Did anyone have the ceremony at the lobby gazeebo? I can't find decent pictures. I have everything booked. I'm so nervous. Lol

So I have my rant for the day .... I am forced to pay for a bar $500.00 for my reception (20 people) that I do not want, they say if I do not get the bar I cannot have the reception. We are all staying at the Royalton which is all inclusive. Why do I need to pay again! Frustrated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
