Free Site Visits in Riviera Maya

So my FI and I want to take a trip back down to Riviera Maya to look at more resorts so we can narrow it down for our wedding party.  Has anyone ever done this before?  I don't want to have to pay $1,000 for a few days to stay at one resort, its not a vacation, I'm scouting. Does anyone know of a service or someone that does this?  Is this a WC or TA duty?

I don't know if every resort/hotel does this but I know that my hotel Le Blanc Spa Resort which is a Palace Resort gives you 3 nights/4 days free for your site visit, it's called "Preview Paradise".  Well it's not actually free you pay a discounted price which in my case is about half the regular room rate and then if you decide to book with the resort the money you paid to do the site inspection is credited back to you to put towards your wedding or wedding package.  I booked a site visit and I am going to Le Blanc in October for a 3 night stay and will be getting that money credited back to me to put towards my wedding.  In my case I already booked the hotel because we fell in love with it but at the site inspection we get to see everything in person and meet with our wedding cordinator and some vendors so we know exactly what we are getting.  So in the end you are only paying for you flight to go to cancun for a quick weekend and get to ask all the questions and see everything in person which for me is crucial since i'm a visiual person.  You can also then book visits with other hotels while you are there I would check and see if the resorts you are looking at offer this option.  Good luck!

I have heard that Karisma resorts do a bridal rehearsal for about $300 per couple for 3nts. They do it once a month. You get to see ceremony locations, reception locations, decor, good tastings etc. I know they did this all of 2013. I'm hoping they continue this in 2014 cuz we are hoping to check out one of their resorts

I had considered the Paradise Preview promo from Palace Resorts (specifically Moon Palace), but it would be $246/pp/night if we didn't end up confirming a wedding. Dreams Riviera Cancun gave me a discounted rate of $110/pp/night and I'm staying 5 days/4 nights at that rate. That just made more sense to me. I'm heading down in a month!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
