When Do You Give Your Guests Their OOT Bags?

Recommended Posts

We ended up having a welcome dinner at the main buffet and I had distributed a rolled up towel tied with the handmade lanyard/keyholders to everyone. I also gave the MCs, the moms and the bridal party their gifts the same night too. The resort was able to put together lots of tables for us enough to have 50 people at dinner! It was really nice!

I plan on bringing them to Cancun with me and have them in their rooms so when they get there they are surprised.  That's the plan but who knows things could change by then i'm going to try to keep them light and not fill them up with stuff they won't actually use.  It also will depend on how many people actually end up going.

I like this idea. One suitcase for the OOT items and an empty one to take back or store new items. LOL

this is my dilemma!!! Ideally, I'd like to hand them out at the airport! but what if (most likely) all guests bring their own carry on? plus with the rules they have regarding liquids n stuff, i'm not sure if the bottles of aloe vera/lotion/etc would even be allowed on as a carry on.  I will have an empty luggage so i suppose i can stuff them all there....the only issue is the tumblers....hopefully they will all fit :S besides all my other decor and stuff....

Then once we get to the hotel, i could assemble them hand them out to each guest at our welcome dinner...i guess that would be nice.......

My plan is to pay my hotel to deliver them to the guests rooms. I think they will feel more special when they arrive to see a nice little welcome bag waiting for them in their rooms. I mean they've taken their time and paid a lot of money to come down to my wedding. The least I can do is thank them this way.

We will not be doing a welcome dinner, and ideally i would love for our hotel to place them in each room... i actually think it's ridiculous that resorts charge for this. the cleaning services enter the room to leave towels and clean, it shouldn't be that big of a deal to pick up a bag and set it on a table while they are in there. LOL  Craziness!

With that being said, I guess we will be hand delivering them to each room? maybe some ding dong ditch haha

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
