A little thing I like to call "Operation Wedding Dress" (aka, my dress is too small... but it won't be soon!)

Recommended Posts

Alright, weigh-in day..... not such a good day... :( FI was gone on business for 4 days, so somehow that meant me vegging and eating crap for 4 days... so I am up 2 pounds. UGH. Hate hate!

But no more! Weather is gorgeous here now, so back to walking after dinner, eating more veggies/fruit and less chips/cheezies/ ice cream.

Welcome all! So we have on our team:

Niki (CAKnight), Heather (Hezmshaw), Danielle (Danielle03), Jessica (Jessica Correra) and Jenny (Jenny2014)! I see we also have: Kel123073 and Ironman??

Did I miss anyone?????

Hey! I'm Kim, a December 2013 bride and a new import to Edmonton, AB (moved here in October).

I'm a lifetime member with Weight Watchers, so I only need to go in for my weigh-in at one point during the month of May (and I have to pay if I am over my goal weight). Just over 7 months until the wedding though and I'm feeling super motivated to get to where I want to be!

I'm quite athletic and do a lot of running, but I'm a bit of a stress eater/drinker. There's been a few wedding-related things lately that just have caused me to have some mini-meltdowns (including this afternoon as we were driving back from Calgary - I'm having a glass of wine as I write this!) I will however limit myself to one glass and start counting every single point I eat or drink again tomorrow!

Hi Kim! Wow so many Edmonton peeps, well 3.. But that seems kind of random lol. But yay us! Welcome :) So girls, a lesson in indulgence... I was doing so good, 6 lbs over 2 weeks. Then came cinco de mayo, which we celebrated on Saturday, but we didn't eat everything or even close to it.. So I carried on eating yesterday, aww heck, it's beautiful out and I deserve it right?? While I'm st it, lets go get an ice cream! So foolish.... I'm up 2 lbs today. Well, here's the food thing, it's not the whole 6 I lost, I'm still under 160 which I am sooo happy about and lesson learned, while the odd treat is fine... A WHOLE WEEKEND of treats WILL DERAIL THE DIET! Lol

I realize now it was a pretty ballsy move, but I am determined to make it fit.  I WILL fit into that dress!

Since I don't know you all, I feel like I can tell you they wanted me to buy an 18.

EIGHTEEN!?!?!  No way Jose!  I ordered a 14 which is STILL bigger than any other clothing item I've ever bought, but I guess wedding dresses are just like that.

Turns out it would fit in the bust and the hips, I'm just a little too round in the middle.  From what I've read, good news that's the easiest stuff to lose!

I want to lose even more, so I can feel great in beach wear, but one step at a time.

So far, I'm eating way healthier, getting exercise a few days a week at least and trying very hard to stop drinking calories.

I'm open to any tips or suggestions or stories of success (or failure for a dose of reality!).  If you're on the same mission, I welcome you to keep in touch with me - I have great support with my friends and I'll be happy to support you too, we can do this together!

I joined the app myfitnesspal and it helped me lose 16lbs and drop from a size 13 to a size 4 so I'd suggest using an app to keep you accountable for your food and exercise :)

Hello! I just found this thread and read through most of it lol!  I would love to join in on the Operation Wedding dress! I actually purchased my dress last week. I bought a sample gown because it fit pretty well. Its just a touch too tight through the hips and a little through the back. My goal is to make sure the dress fits perfectly... I guess I don't really want to lose too much so it won't be too big and need a ton of alterations, but I'd also like to look good in my bathing suit since we're getting married in Cuba! I have 364 days left til I get married so I have some time, but I am looking to lose about 20-30 lbs! This past weekend I started working out more often... I am going to try and do at least 30 minutes of exercise every day. I especially want to work on my upper back and arms so they look sexy with my strapless dress!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
