@@ng2015 - Real Touch (also called Natural Touch) flowers are fakes that look really real.  If you want to create your own bouquet, you can get individuals and/or bloom heads at Save-On-Crafts.  Other brides have mentioned finding them at Michael's.  If you want a bouquet made for you, many on here seem to have gotten them from Bloom Bridal and Created By Me Dezigns.  I'm not sure if I'm going to have a bouquet made or make one myself using a brooch bouquet tutorial.  I can't get over how real some of the flowers look.

@girlinthecity97 Thank you for this! I will look into them asap. As far as the brooch bouquet, I read some stories online that it looks easier to make than it actually is because once you pin them into the foam, they tend to get loose and fall out.

They sell a bunch of different types of brooch bouquets on Etsy.  Are you having a bridal party? If so, what would you have them hold?

Since my fiance only has one groomsman (best man) I will only have a m how oh and my niece, a jr bridesmaid to worry about. I may get basic lomas flowers that match my bouquet or get real touch ones for them too. I am debating if I want to have my niece carry a bouquet or a flower pomodor instead. How about you?

@girlinthecity97

Thank you so much for this flower tip! I was not even considering fake flowers, but these look great, and I was so not wanting to pay a little fortune to Lomas for mediocre bouquets that would die in the sun and should cost a tenth of their prices. Loved what  say at Bloombridal.com, lets see what they quote...

To all brides posting on this :D

I have just had a breakthrough in iron Karisma policy.  I have posted on several forums about my concern for hair and makeup.  I have been to destination weddings and find that spa/salon staff are not worth the money you pay.  I have also found a couple reviews on the Vassa spa validating my worries.

If you are like me and would like the very best the day of... I came across a couple stylists that offer airbrush makeup application.  I have had this here at home and loved it!  It really does give your face a flawless finish. Anyway, enough with the commercial.   I told Azul that I only wanted airbrush and the hotel can't provide that.  Voila!  Its been approved!  I will be bringing in my own hair and makeup team.

As of now I am supposed to pay for a day pass for them...however, I have also found reviews that say the hotel staff, when confronted the day off often discount or wave the fee since they are only there for a couple hours and do not eat or drink.

I will keep you posted on how that goes.

Hey girls!  I'm getting married at Azul Beach April 29.  I wanted to get your opinions on reception areas.  We originally thought we'd have 35 guests and I actually got approval from the hotel to use Blue Terrace, despite their restrictions on numbers of guests.  However, since then, we are down to 29 - possibly might be 31.  I'm not sure if they'll allow us to stay at Blue Terrace and I also don't know how vacant the area will be with this many people.

My fiance I loved the balance that Blue Terrace has - you're outside, but still covered.  We don't want to travel all the way to Mexico to have our reception indoors.  However, we don't like the idea of a beach reception.

Where are others having their reception that are in the 30-ish guest range?  I don't know if the Wave Lounge would accomodate this many for dinner and dancing, or if that's even an option.  We are just using a speaker for our iPod, so don't need to worry about room for a DJ.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @@AggieKat

I'm not 100% sure on my number of guests.  I'm thinking 25? but until everyone finalizes their payments I wont believe theyre acutally coming.

Anyway, I was originally going to be in the Blue Terrace but switched to Chil Terrace.  From the pictures it looks the same as blue terrace just smaller.

I'm like you, I don't want to have the reception right on the beach.  I went to a destination wedding a couple years ago and they had an indoor/outdoor type patio and I absolutely loved it.  It ended up raining mid reception so it worked out perfectly!

@talicea7812:  I have to say, one of the most frustrating parts about a destination wedding is getting people to commit!  I have one more couple is up in the air, but we only have 10 days until our block of rooms expires.  I didn't even know the Chil Terrace was an option for receptions.  What is the seating capacity for that place with room for a dance floor?  It looks like a beautiful venue, as well!

I'm definitely on the same page as you about a reception venue.  I don't want two completely outdoor settings (beach and beach) where we have to worry about weather and relocation.

@girlinthecity97:  Thanks for your input!  My travel agent just told me the same thing - to keep it if the resort will let me with that minimum.  I'm hoping the fact that we're getting married on a random Tuesday helps, so they have nothing else going on :)

Anyone have input on what they did/are doing for ceremony decor?  I keep leaning towards less is better to allow the beauty of the beach come through, but at the same time feel weird not doing anything at all.  I'm torn!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
