So ive been planning my wedding for the past few months. i choose to use my aunt as a travel agent since shes part of the family. ive gotta say i wish i never did. the main thing im wondering is what are the duties of a travel agent for destination weddings? especially with follow up about bookings. it seems like she wants me to be all over everyone every couple of days asking them about their deposit and when its going to be in. i dont feel comfortable with doing it and especially not so often. i got everyone to call into her so is it not her responsibility to be making follow up sales call if she hasnt heard from them? i could go on about the service ive received form her. i know ill never be recommending her. if it was easy enough to just find another agent i would. shes family. i cant just do that.

Normally, we have your guests contact us and we treat them as individual clients.  we answer their questions, book their room, air, transfers, insurance (if they want) and make arrangements with them directly for payment.

Sticky...sticky! My cousin is a TA and automatically assumed he would handle our group booking. I had to tell him politely and in a private setting that I did not want to mix business and family. It caused static between us for a few weeks but he got over it. What about discussing your concerns with her?
