Grand Sunset Princess 2014 Bride!!!!

Recommended Posts

Thanks @@mbear2014 !

I have now received the updated packages from the WC so there is a lot of info in there.

How was the Gala dinner location? (Was it in the ballroom?) Is it completely closed in or is there any open air? Also for the Gala dinner did you have to choose from those menus that range $30-75 per plate?

I think I'd be willing to pay for the non-existant guests to meet the 40 minimum (or we may even have over 40). I guess it's a waiting game to see how many people actually book! :)

Thanks girl!

Nikki

I just read on an older post that you booked the Ocean front ceremony! Even with the extra charge, I think I want that too. My sister got married at the Sunset Gazebo in 2012, so I was hoping for a bit of a different ceremony, and don't love the Riviera Gazebo.

Would you be able to post pictures of the ceremony afterwards? Or even email me a couple?

I'd also like any feedback on where it is, how close spectating beach loungers are.. etc.

Thank you very much! Your day is coming up so soon! SO exciting :)

I just booked mine for May 26th, 2015. Long way to go!

If any one else has shots of the ocean front ceremony, I'd love to see them!

Thanks

Nikki

Hello Everyone!

I am also a Grand Sunset Princess Bride - wedding date November 5, 2014.

I am currently in the process of wedding planning and am looking for any advice, help or even support!

We are booking our ceremony in the gazebo, and our reception dinner in the Ibiza ballroom.  Anyone else in the process of planning?  Would love to hear your thoughts!

@@barbiebec November is an awesome time to get married here in the Mayan Riviera...great temperature and usually a little quieter on the beaches!

We're sure you'll get lots of incredible ideas from some of your fellow beach brides here on BDW. We recently shot at Grand Sunset Princess. Below are a few photos from our Grand Sunset couple's special day or you can visit our website for more destination wedding inspiration.

Happy planning!!! :)

Hey 2014 brides!

i just returned home last week from my wedding at the grand riviera princess. I thought I would write a quick little review to help you out as I enjoyed reading about other peoples.

Our Wedding was  on a Wednesday at 4pm. We arrived on the Sunday so we had a few days to relax, and work on our tans :) We brought a group of 42 people with us and it was AMAZING! Almost everyone had swimout rooms and I would definitey recommend them. They had all of our rooms close together and we could literally swim over to everyones rooms. The pool was definitley where the partying was at!

We met with our coordinator Monserrat on the Monday and went over all our choices and details. The meeting took about an hour and then we were all set to go! We chose the Sunset gazebo because I had read it was more private- and I liked the way it looked :) It is definitey way more private than the riviera gazebo. The sunset gazebo is at the end of the private section of the beach with a fence on the other side. The riviera gazebo on the other hand is right in the middle of the beach- just depends on what your in to. Monserrat was a little late at picking me and my girls up (she drives you to the site in a cart that has room for her +7) she came at like 4:10- no big deal since the wedding couldn't start without us. The ceremony was awesome. The cued the music I brought on a cd perfectly and they included in a sand ceremony for us (I brought my own sand and ceremony kit)

Immediatley after the ceremony we did pictures. Pictures started with everyone and eliminated people as we went until it was just us and the bridal party and then just us. It gave our famiy and freinds a nice chance to go grab a drink before dinner at 6. We used the resort photographer- his name was Andre and he was amazing. Your recieve a beautiful book with your photos, which is a nice keepsake to come home with, especially since everyone at work wants to see your photos and your excited to share them with everyone.

Dinner was at 6 at Mamma Mia, we had our own private section with 3 of our own waiters and the manager checked in a few times to make sure everything was to our liking. The food was great and everything went smooth. One note on the restaurant is that your on your own to get there- its about a 10 minute walk to the restaurant from the beach- it was a little warm out and we didnt have time to freshen up after pictures since we didnt finish pictures until and 6.

We had a beach party from 8-10 and it was soo much fun! they use the bar on the beach and its strictly for your wedding. (Monserrat stood by the bar the entire night and sent anyone who wandered on to the beach away letting them know that the bar was only open for wedding guests.- only a few people came by anyways) We didn't use a DJ we just used our BOSE system and it worked great and provided more than enough sound. I personally dont see a need for a dj at all- the time on the beach goes quick and this way you already have all the tunes you want to hear ready to go!

All in all everything was amazing and you hav nothing at all to stress about!

Also,

I had my make up done at the salon and she did an amazing job! i was very happy with it. One of my bridesmaids is a hairdresser so she did my hair for me.

I also brought my own fake boquets and bouttonnieres from home which I think turned out awesome. Because I didn't use the flowers provided in the infinity package I was able to pick a centerpience to use for the ceremony and head table. I go to keep it in my room afterwards which was nice because it was beautiful :)

What have brides done or are doing for music when you walk down the aisle?

I heard of some brides bringing their own music and making a playlist before hand? I'm wondering do you put a song before your aisle song? For when people are sitting down and then ur big song? How many songs do you have on ur pay list? Any good songs you would recommend?

Thanks brides!

@nikkicraig10  Would you be willing to pass on the info you received? I'm having a really hard time getting any kind of response from anyone at the resort. I'm still trying to make my mind up as far as this resort for us or another one. We're a really small group so I don't know if what they offer will work for us.

thanks!

@@Lolo63 I just got back last night, Mamma Mia was my favorite of the 7 a la cartes we made it to! This resort knows how to rock out the wedding, with up to 6 a day it seemed like. I will post a review in a few days once I get settled back in to life... and start the process to change my last name of course! :D

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
