Now Larimar 2014 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!!

Is anyone using a travel agent ? Why or why not did you decide to use one?!

If anyone has any TA recommendations please send them my way! I'm having a hard time finding one that works with Now resorts and isn't "pushing" the others on me!

Tiffany Ellison: I am a travel agent and the Bride :) I can talk to my boss tomorrow and find out some information for you. I am not sure if we do groups for all parts of the US, but I will ask and see. I know we've sent groups out of Detroit, Michigan.Do you know what day in May your going to have your wedding?!

duchovny0901: We are having our ceremony on the beach!! I want to have our ceremony around one of the preferred club pools, as most of my guests will be staying in the preferred section.

Do you know where you want to have your ceremony or reception?!

Marbear that's awesome! I'm having my ceremony August 30, 2014 @ 4pm at the fountain! It looked so pretty from the videos and photos I've seen. I'm up in the air regarding the reception though; we haven't started booking rooms yet but as our guests are receiving the Save the Dates, they're getting very excited, and now we're anticipating closer to 70 guests instead of the 40 we thought we'd have! Because of the large size of our group, I know some areas are already off the list. I'm considering the ballroom but I haven't seen any good pictures of the space. I also thought about the nightclub; they have a nice terrace but I don't want my guests to be deathly hot while eating and dancing! Did you decide on any other details? Like photographer, DJ or excursions? I'm so excited for you!

I have been looking at their wedding guide and Im a little confused with their prices, so if anyone could shed some light on the Now wedding prices I would greatly appreciate it.

My confusion has come from page 11 of the wedding guide 'additional wedding services' I see all items listed through out the guide states $ however on page 11 it shows  a few items, such as the fire dancers as US$. Does that mean that all the other prices are actually RD$/dominican pesos $?

Or are all prices USD$?

Also on another note, can anyone shed some light on the outside vendor photography fee? I have a very close friend who is also a photographer. I have invited him to the wedding as a guest and also asked him to do the photography. Since he is also going to be a wedding guest he will be staying with us at the hotel so would the outside vendor fee apply to him to do the photography?

Any info on these anyone has will be greatly appreciated.

;-)

Hi Chel! These are all great questions actually! From what I understand the Additional Services list is in all US Dollars. My confirmation email stated that the exchange rate from Dominican pesos to USD is 41:1. So a violinist would cost about $10 USD for a 1 hour set. I'm not sure if that right (haha) but I'll check with my wedding coordinator anyway! Photography: This has been a frequent question on all the NOW Larimar threads! The list of addtional services that I received when I made my wedding deposit stated "Outside Photographer fee: US$ 500.00 per person /day (do not includes food, beverage or any other service)". I don't think you can get around this even if your friend is staying there unfortunately. I think this is extremely high though! My fiance and I are thinking we will stick with the resort photographer because they're included, but I must admit I'm a bit nervous! I hope this helps!

I am wanting to book with Now for my wedding next July, does anyone have a more extensive list of add-ons and prices? I want to have the best idea possible for what it is going to cost before I make my decision. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
