Would love to.  I noticed you're planning a wedding in Grand Cayman - one of my best friends is from there, so I've been quite a few times and love the island!  PM me with contact details.

I've just started reeeeallly getting more into planning. I just completed my Wedding Plans Notebook so that I can keep everything in one place, stay organized, and even know what to work on. I'm  a little all over the place, but am currently working on flower decisions, finalizing a DJ, and decorations (for ceremony and reception mainly). How about you?

I feel like I have a lot of the "big things" planned, so that's a relief! Venue for rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception. Photographer, DJ, Dress, my fiance's wedding band...all done. The next biggest things I need to work on are flowers. I have been reading a lot about the "real touch" flowers and since I'm not that impressed by the flowers offered through my resort, I'm thinking of taking that route. What are you girls doing for flowers?

I'm still stuck for flowers myself,.  I briefly thought about silk flowers (a friend of mine did that for her wedding and they were beautiful), but I would like them not only for the girls to hold but for some decorations as well - and the idea of transporting that all down there is too overwhelming for me.  I'm trying to find pictures of bouquets I like and am going to send them to my coordinator, asking what is practical in terms of what is easily obtainable on the island and what is hard to get (and therefore expensive).

I'm still all over the place too! I am honestly not too concerned about flowers as I'm not a huge flower person anyways. And honestly, I've been to about 20 weddings and I have no clue what any of the brides flowers looked like! LOL! I'll probably just get some basic daisys or lillies from the resort.

This past weekend my fiance and I went and purchased our wedding bands so I was happy about that! That was a big purchase out of the way. (well at least the deposit!)

I did start making luggage tags and thank you for booking notes to send to people as they book. So far we've had 2 confirmed! Yay! :) Now I'm just still at a stand-still until I get some sort of idea how many guest we'll have!

I never thought to do a thank you for booking note, but I like!  Are you sending a hand written note?  Or do you have a template of some sort?

I'm going to sew luggage tags and send those out with the pre-travel brochure as people RSVP instead of waiting until a few weeks before.  I feel like that will help nudge people along who have RSVP'd and are planning to go but haven't booked their flight and/or hotel yet (we're not at an all inclusive).  I'm so paranoid that people are going to procrastinate and our room block is only held until 3 months before the wedding!

I don't really have a template. I actually went to vistaprint and designed an oversized postcard. I then saved it in a word doc and printed it out on card stock. I'll be mailing the thank you for booking note and luggage tags as each person books. We will also send all of our confirmed guest a pre-travel brochure about a month and a half before the wedding. It may end up being a lot of postage (depending on # of guest) but I think it's a nice touch and we really want to show our appreciation for joining us!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
