Jewelry Help Please

I'm accessory challenged in real life.. now that I'm a bride, even more so!

I really need some advice. I normally wear a diamond pendant necklace and studs every day. My grandmother lent me my great grandma's necklace to wear. Problem: it's gold and as I said in my alterations thread, it really doesn't match my dress.. I thought the dress had more champagne coloring to the thread, but it sparkles and is more silver.

I won't be wearing a tiara, flower, or veil. I was looking for hair jewelry, maybe a filigree silver (sparkly) barrette for the back. (need to find this too) This is the closest thing I found that I like.

I was thinking, short dangle earrings and a bracelet so I don't take away from the top of the dress. I never wear either of those items so might feel funny. I love this style of earrings, but not sure if it goes with my dress. If I don't wear a necklace, I should have larger earrings, right? What necklace goes with these (and my dress)?

I'm wearing her necklace for our courthouse ceremony. and was thinking about pinning into my dress or in organza bag on my bouquet..

Maybe I should wear it for the ceremony and then remove for pictures? The last thing I want to do is hurt my grandma's feelings and it's such an honor that she asked if I'd like to wear it.

Ah... please help!

I think grandma will be okay with you wearing the necklace to your legal and not the beach wedding. Just tell her that is what you are doing because your dress has silver in it, so it does not go. Be honest.

You can take off the chain and get a pin and pin the pendant to the inside of your dress, if you want.

I love the earrings, I say get them. Or, go for something a little more dangly, I love dangly (but I do not wear earrings, so I know how you feel, I just like the look on other people).

I love both barrettes, but especially love the second one, the flower. I also think you should get Edyta's hair do.

Get a glitzy bracelet as well, what way you have enough bling to not need a necklace.

Or, if you want a necklace, I really think any style of necklace would look good, just make it the same colour and style as your earrings, silver with diamonds (fake of course). Does that make sense.

I really do think you can't go wrong with the style of this dress and anything you choose, as long as its silver, you are right about gold not going so well. (At least that is how it looks from the pictures)

I really like this barrette and it looks like it will go great with your dress!

And I think Edyta's hair style will look PERFECT on you! I would definitely use her hair as inspiration!

Those earrings look great! I think you can forego the necklace altogether if you want to. I have a similarly cut dress ... and am restringing my Mom's pearls in a choker-style. You could do something like that as well, with the silvertone freshwater pearls.

How about wrapping your Grandma's necklace around the stems of your bouquet? I think that would look beautiful ... and it would still be visible for her to see.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
