Wedding Dress Prices?

Recommended Posts

I like that i found this b/c i had guilt over how much i spent on my dresses.  I really did not want to spend over 1,000 for both (one for Jamaica one for AHR). Luckily alterations are included! Both dresses came to just under 2,000. I still have to get shoes a hair piece and jewelry.

When I started shopping I decided I wanted to keep it under 2k.  I found a couple dresses that I liked well under budget but unfortunately didn't get that 'this is my dress' feeling. Then I found my dress - 2100 w/ 10% at Kleinfelds complete with 'this is definitely my dress' feeling.  I wish i had spent less but oh well -- I've never spent anywhere near this on a dress and will never do it again!

My inital budget was $1000 for my dress.  I had all the money saved up and when I started looking my mom told me she would be paying for my dress, which I appreciate so much!  However, I knew even more then ever I needed to keep it under budget as I didn't want my mom to break the bank paying for my dress!  My dress ended up being $900 dollars, so underbudget by a little bit.

My dress budget was $1000 max, although I was hoping to spend much less. I tried to find some dresses for under $800 to leave room for alterations, but the one I fell in love with came out to be $985. And thankfully alterations will be free so I guess I did good on my budget. cheesy.gif

My original budget was around 1800.  But then I knocked it up to 3k because I found a paloma that was perfect!  But when I tried it on, it just wasn't it.  Then I found my dress the enzoani fatima for 2600.  That dress knocked out even this 5k lazaro that had everything I wanted.  I'm glad I didn't buy it that day though because I found a cheaper version of it from enzoani's blue line.  So my dress actually ended up being 1600, but I spent another 300 on this awesome belt from enzoani!  So I pretty much stuck to my budget even though I went back and forth a bit.  So I'd say shop around for a designer's cheaper line because they come out with similar dresses.  The only difference between the 2 enzoanis was that the fatima had more tulle so it was a slightly fuller skirt (which can be easily fixed w/ a slip) and the dress I ordered add some pleating around the waist which I liked more than the fatima.

i wouldn't pay more than 500 for a dress  and i don't think it is worth it, even thought it is my wedding. as i think i would only wear the dress once. so i don't want to waste money on something that i will only used once.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
