We are bringing out photographer and her assistant with us..we are getting as much coverage as we what for the rehearsal, wedding day and a trash the dress. We are paying $1,000 for their services and then their travel expenses for 3 nights..it gives us a photographer we love and lots of coverage of our time there! We shot our engagement shoot with her and my fiance said we needed to bring her with us..so that was the ultimate decision!

You can search her on Facebook and she has a website. Other brides on here have used her as well. Good luck!

Houstonnlh thanks! I checked her out and she IS very reasonable compared to some others that's for sure. When is your wedding? I'm curious how far out in advance she books up...

Hi Girls

I'm thinking of using  Gilda Badillo as well for my pictures! I was thinking I was just going to use the Riu Palace Photographer but I heard bad reviews and Gilda isn't really any more expensive. I'm just really nervous about giving money for a deposit to a outside vendor. What are your thoughts, Should I be nervous?

You can bring outside vendors and pay the $300 fee for them to be there for the day. Just for referrence...I am using Gilda for photography 7 hours (6 hours wedding coverage plus 1 hour TTD the following day) and Jorge Ibarra for videography (5 hours day of wedding). Gilda and Jorge are good friends and actually, Gilda recommended Jorge to me. I think they are both reasonably priced and very good, based on reviews and the work they have done that I have seen. I don't know pricing on RIU photography but I do know Jorge wasn't any more expensive in terms of videography. Best of luck in your decision! :)

I also considered for photography: Juan Carlos Tapia and Dino Gomez. They are more expensive than Gilda, but also very good (in my opinion-obviously it's personal preference).

It is Mango Productions, I think you can google them and pricing is on there...

We have decided to bring our own photographer... I don't know how it is everywhere, but i have been told by other brides that the resort photographers take pictures for the ceremony and after for "group" pictures and than they basically disappear.  But I can not say this is for everywhere, as I don't know.  We have decided to bring our own photographer as well.  It is costing us $1,000 for the whole wedding day (Getting ready pictures, Ceremony, family and friend pictures in unlimited locations, dinner & reception).  We are paying an extra $250 for the TTD session the day after the wedding and she is giving me a FREE BD session here in Canada before we leave for our trip, so I will have the book made for my MOH to deliver to FI the morning of our wedding.  Your photographer needs about 3 days to travel usually.  I know a lot of TA's offer every 11th person travels free, so you could end up having your photographer travel for free in that case.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
