Photography Concerns

Hey girls...

I'm starting to get a bit stressed about choosing a photographer. Are there any honestly reasonably priced photographers in the Cabo area or is the most budget-friendly option taking someone down with you? Any input is greatly appreciated.

My wedding is in Jamaica so I'm not sure about photographers in cabo but I found it bet to bring one with me. All the photographers in Jamaica I either didn't like their work or they were over $4000 for 5 hours of shooting. I'm bringing an awesome photographer with me and in total paying about $3500 and that's full day coverage and a TTD shoot

Thanks girls... so how did you go about finding these awesome photographers?
I'm bringing a local photog from home. I found her at our wedding show. There were about 45 different photogs there so I just looked for ones that I liked their style then went by price. I'm paying $2000 for the full day package (she charges $6500 for the same package here at home) then $1500 for travel. Plus I get the day after shoot. I'm sure I could have found someone cheaper but my fiancé is a photographer as well (not wedding) and very picky about the work they do and so I guess you can say I'm trained at what to look for ( framing, lighting, lines, ect) and telling the difference between someone who has trained and practised for a long time And someone who just picked up an digital camera and bought photoshop. To me it's amazing how many resort photographers are actually horrible at their job yet charge ridiculous amounts of money.

Hi Brooke! You should really check out Gilda Badillo. I don't know what your price range is, but that is who we are using and I think she is EXTREMELY affordable. She is super responsive and nice. You can search her on Facebook and she has a website. Other brides on here have used her as well. Good luck!

We are bringing our photographer with us. I booked her right after we got engaged without meeting her which was kind of a gamble but I love her photos! We just did our engagement pictures and she is awesome and best of all, she offers a discounted rate for destination weddings. She is a fraction of the cost of some photographers I looked at in Cabo.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
