Patty  suggested a 10hr flight to Punta Cana. My mother lives in NYC. My Girlfriend flying in from Chicago received a 14hr flight.  They both asked for a direct flight and Iâ€m afraid to call and see if she got back to them. Iâ€ve signed a contact with them and paid 2,000  to block off 20 rooms. What should I do?

Ops - I also meant to say....  That maybe you should call Patty yourself and nicely explain your quest concerns - See what kind of a responds you get from her . . . There may be a reason why she made those suggestions?

If anyone in NJ or NY needs a jeweler my guy is awesome...my ring appraised for $22k of course my FI did not pay that amount...I also purchased a necklace for my dress that was $4,900 but my jeweler sold it to us for $2,500.... AND my FI had to have a custom made ring and it was only $1,500 with 1ct of diamonds  AMAZING DEAL!!!!

I'm really sorry to hear that. A flight from NYC or Chicago to Punta Cana should not be 10-14 hours, that's for sure.  I would try calling her yourself and talking with her. I decided not to use a travel agent so I can't suggest an alternative.  Since the guests on my side are pretty travel savvy and I post all the deals I find on my wedding website, I figured that would work just fine and it's free for me. I know I don't have the connections of a TA but my guests are able to get to Cancun and stay for under $950 per person and the flight is only taking 5 hours.

From what I've read you need to make sure you have documentation for everything you bring (i.e. receipts) this includes meds as well as your wedding contract. I think there's a $$ cap for how much stuff you can bring into the country, it's high though, like maybe $10K. As long as you have receipts for all of the goods you're bringing in and can show them it's for a wedding I hear they are generally good

Do you girls every take off your ring or is it just me? I never wore rings before so I'm trying to get in the habit of always wearing it but it's very weighty (I guess that's a good thing) so I usually take it off if I'm in the house or go to workout.

I take my ring off before I go to bed, or when I get in the house to relax (and mine is surely not as weighty as yours)!  LOL..my mom is like: "You take your ring off???"

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
