So the general consensus I got on the serving set was not to even bother! To use the one from the resort.

I'm using the serving set from the resort. FI and I agree that it's a waste of money for us

I went in there knowing that i wanted an Allure gown. If it's your first time dress shopping, be aware that it's not a champagne glass experience. There are a lot of brides there looking for their dresses also. I would recommend going during the week days. I enjoyed my experience as I was put off by Pronovias AND David's Bridal's salesgirls being upset that I didn't immediately purchase the first dress. I fell in love with a White By Vera gown after I had gone in there with my mom for her dress. When I didn't immediately buy the dress, I got serious attitude. Needless to say Im getting a knockoff Vera. I cant see myself spending $1500 lol

That's sweet you have one each and you all are such close friends. My FI and I have separate friends and we don't mix and mingle lol As for a dress code, I am requesting everyone to NOT wear dark colors. I love bright colors so I want the ladies to wear colorful dresses and the fellas to wear gray/tan/khaki/light blue. No black or navy. No jackets but I want them to wear ties
Yeah I am probably going to give the guy ties to wear as part of my dress code package... I sorta of feel bad if its super hot... but oh well LOL
ohhh cool, I just googled them. That is the best of both worlds of being barefoot with some accessory! Exactly! I guess it depends on what time of day when the wedding would be. I imagine noon/midday it would be hot but later on near sunset, it would be cool.
good point Thanks!
NOT changing my name. I'm one of three girls and we're the last ones in my family with our last name. Our father passed away at a young age when I was just a kid so I want to keep our family name in honor of him. I told my FI and he is OK with it because of my dad. However, he does prefer that I change it. He tries to guilt me (only half serious) by saying "don't you want to have the same last name as our kids?" My reply is that we're not any less of a family just because we have different last names.
That is a sweet way to keep your family name going! I still haven't made my mind up either way.. I think this will be something that I just end up deciding on when the time comes to sign the papers. I have strong feelings for both ways :-

Oh cool sounds like we have very similar wedding in the plans here. I like the idea of it being so small that everyone will really get to feel like they are part of the wedding... We are each only having 1 friend... and the friend we each chose is prefect because their other halves are our good friends too .. so really we get 4 of our very best friends. I told my friend that even though I'm not doing a wedding party she is my honorary Maid of Honor, which is exactly how I would have done it had I done a wedding party... my sisters would have been bridesmaids.

I don't think my FI had an opinion either way...

So because of the no wedding part/ very small guest list thing.... I am asking everyone to wear white/light beige ... I have a couple of reasons for this.... Are you having a dress code??

Same here, we are having a smaller wedding and our only bridal party will be our daughters :)

Wait! One of those shows is filmed in Mass? Which one? I have lots of options I think.. If I end up going to my Mom's and there is nothing really close to her we would always go to some place like Baltimore which is only a couple hours drive. She does come up this way every now and then so we could plan something when she does that. I'm really not worried about it... I just don't want to do it HAHA Once I get to the store I'm sure I'll have fun :)
Yes..I found the gown is filmed there. Vows is the store..they have online shopping too but I wouldn't do that. Friend of mines wad a BM in a wedding went there with her bride. Not really much but great prices they said

This is another thing I haven't decided on wanting yet. The flowers on the cake I like from the resort are pretty so I think I might just stick with that. I did see some Swarovski letters that I like... But if I did a letter it would probably be the first letter of his last name.... However... I'm not sure I want to change my name so that wouldn't really make sense. Anyone else decided/ing on not changing your name?
I Here's my plan regarding my FI last name. I don't have a middle name so I'm making my last name my middle name and his my last name... Does that make sense? Lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
