Speaking of honeymoons.....are you ladies going to another location to honeymoon or are you extending your stay at your resort to serve as your honeymoon? I initially extended our stay 5 days after the wedding is over to have alone time since all our guests will be leaving on a Monday, but I was thinking do I want to stay at the same place for 12 days!!! Just curious to know what you chicas are doing!!
I am definitely moving hotels after the wedding. One thing I am doubtful that I want to do is to stay at another all inclusive. The reason is, there are so many fantastic restaurants in the Riviera Maya that it would be a shame not to try some of them. The other option for us is to go to Belize, somewhere I've wanted to visit for a while. The problem is that we also have plans to go to Malaysia for a big conference a few months after the wedding, and I'm not sure that my fiancé is keen on the idea of spending a lot of money to go on our honeymoon (when I sold the destination wedding as a way to save some money)! If I stayed in the Riviera Maya, I would like to stay at Le Reve The only issue is that it looks like they are booked for some of the dates that I wanted, so I'm looking for hotels like it. I'm not sure what hotels we would stay if we went to Belize.

I am just doing mine at resort where we will be getting married. We are there for a week From a Thursday-thursday and our wedding is 2days after we get there . Most will be leaving day after wedding so it gives us 5days afterwards to honeymoon Plus I love tg e resort we'll be staying so that will be fine for us

I'm really sorry to hear that. A flight from NYC or Chicago to Punta Cana should not be 10-14 hours, that's for sure.  I would try calling her yourself and talking with her. I decided not to use a travel agent so I can't suggest an alternative.  Since the guests on my side are pretty travel savvy and I post all the deals I find on my wedding website, I figured that would work just fine and it's free for me. I know I don't have the connections of a TA but my guests are able to get to Cancun and stay for under $950 per person and the flight is only taking 5 hours.
A flight from nyc punta cana is 4hrs. Out of newark direct flights are about $590pp. Look up flights on kayak. Your TA is screwing u

I knew I wasn't the only one! My FI was like what women takes her ring off...lol!
I was told not to take it off bwcuse next thing you know you will lose your ring and not realize it is missing because you are not 100% used to it. The day after we got engaged we went on a vacation to Punta Cana and the two days I took it off to wash my hair I left it by the shower, so we sat down to dinner and FH is like, where in the F is your ring, so running to the bedroom two nights in a row, after that i took it off again while cleaning the kitchen back at home, put it by the window sill, I forgot!, I was nervous all day at work thinking someone might break into or backyard, see the ring and break the window to get it... never again, it has never been off my fingers since then.

TA's do that to save people money, not because they want people to go around earth, depending on how far in advance they are booking a flight to DR from NY can be up to $950 so if I were a TA and getting. $700 quote for a direct flight or $430 for a flight with stops, of course I would recommend the second one.

i don't eat in mine, clean house or anything in mine.. i don't want anything other than reg everyday dust in mine(I know crazy). i don't want harsh cleaners like some cleaning solvents or abrasive cleaners to damage my diamonds
Regular household cleaners won't damage diamonds, you can actually use diamonds to engrave on metal and the diamonds wind be damaged!

Right now we are just staying at the same resort for two weeks.... we will be there the same amount of time before and after the wedding.... I have been unsure of what I want to do since before we booked.     Part of me wants to stay put, part of me wants to go to a different resort, part of me wants to go to a different island, and part of me wants to do something like go on a cruise.

I can't make up my mind Hahah ...  I think we will probably just stay put.  We are staying at one of the Sandals in St. Lucia... there are three of them so we can go to either of the other two as much as we want.  So if we feel like running away for the day or getting a change of scenery we can!

Decisions Decisions. . .

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
