Is it alright to have more friends invited than family?

Reason I ask is because FI is only inviting his parents (he's an only child of divorced parents).

Obviously my parents and sister are invited. My mom wants me to invite other family, but I come from a HUGE family. My mom is 1 of 9... So for me to pick and choose is unfair and just too complicated. We were thinking of keeping it to just the parents and then our closest friends. With our bridal party the total of invitees is 40. Is this okay?

That's exactly what we did!! I have a very small family so it would've have mattered but my FI family is huge. We invited parents, grandparents (only applicable to him and they aren't coming) and siblings. He also invited one uncle but that uncle is only a few years older than him, one of his closest friends and groomsmen so it doesn't really count haha.

We're expecting around 50 people so the rest are friends.  It would've been to hard to pick and choose what family members and if we invited his whole family he wouldn't have been able to invite any friends and I would've just been able to invite my Mom, Dad, sister and brother in law, that's how big it is. I wasn't on board with having 45 of his family members there and 5 of mine, luckily he wasn't either haha.

Do what you guys want to go, invite who you really want to spend the day with.

Hi lovies Life is so hard ! I'm sitting on the beach on Amelia Island with a rum and coke laughing at all my new crazy friends. Lol I'm thinking maybe I should start a new business. Since I fly for free I should have brides pay my taxes and a small fee and ill hand deliver all their stuff. Hahahah ah Help pay for my wedding. I'm horrible as I sit on All the forums I'm like " how can I make a business out of this?"

Um...I have less than 20 family members, 'aunties' and 'uncles' and 34 friends invited.  I also am only inviting one of my first cousins.  Let me show you how worried I am about that:

You do YOU.  And if anybody gives you grief, please refer them to this wise young lady:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
