Congrats on 13 pounds. That's awesome!

First of all... What's a pork rind?

And second of all - I know - MEN... Drive me nuts, my FI is the same... He has completely lost his beer belly in no time flat.... We go to the gym together... he even takes more break days then I do... and gobbles down huge bricks of cheese at 10pm - It just keeps falling off of him... Me on the other hand.... I fight for every little morsel of weight loss...  Anyways good place to vent!! haha

Allie - Congrats!! 13 lbs is awesome!!

Donna, they are fried pork skins. A southern US treat for sure. They have all sorts of different flavors - BBQ, chili lime, and plain. not low-fat, for sure, just zero carbs.

and yes, MEN. I swear. hey, at least he'll look hot at the beach, right? lol

thank you for your kind words of support.

I love this fake-out iced coffee recipe - I use it with peppermint mocha creamer, and a caramel creamer and both are delish. I do it with a french vanilla flavor at work, and that works too. So I really think you can swap it out with your favorite flavors.

and as for the guys..YES. those rats. my FI keeps saying "I'm only 5 lbs from my goal" and "I'm only 2 lbs from my beach weight". I want to smack him sometimes.

another random: did you guys know that pork rinds are zero carbs? a good crunchy treat. my FI discovered this one - one of my favorite quotes from my New-York-City-boy "I need to go to the gas station for pork rinds and beer". I've been calling him a redneck ever since....

Def gonna try out all of these flavours. :o)

BAHAHAHAHAAH... I'm from Alabama... Red neck cental here, and I have the thick southern accent myself.. LOL.. I'll def have to start munching on pork rinds.. I like them until someone explains to me what they are while I'm eating them. lol

  • 4 weeks later...

I need to loose about 20 pounds ... So I love hearing what you girls are doing to loose some pounds! As for cutting out carbs, here is a delisious secret! When having a sandwich weather it be a turkey sandwich, tuna, chicken salad, ect use head lettuce leaves for the bread-it is so good, better than bread in my opinion. I've done weight watchers before (on my own, never signed up) and its very easy and good results. But again hard to stay on track. Mid anyone is interested I could email you the weight watchers documents I have to be started :) good luck ladies!

Hey there, I know this isn't a low carb diet - But I'm in the middle of trying out this 3 Day Military Diet... http://blessedmommy.hubpages.com/hub/Lose-Up-To-10-Pounds-In-3-Days-On-The-3-Day-Diet  I'm on Day 2, and I'm not starving or anything... Meant to lose up to 10lbs in 3 days... Sounds too good to be true - I agree, but that's why I thought I'd test it out!  Me and the FI are on it - I will give you my results when I weigh in at the end!

My new favourite thing is cauliflower soup: Boil 1/2 a head of cauliflower in low sodium chicken or veggie broth. (About 2 cups of liquid) until you can easily pierce the cauliflower with a fork. Purée in blender until creamy consistency Add real bacon bits, cheese crumbles and green onions. If you want, add I can of diced white potatoes if you're not too worried about carbs. I do this and it still isn't too bad when divided out among 4 servings. It's delish!

Wow! That sounds like it would be perfect to pack for lunches. I doubt my DH would like it, but I'm always looking for easy lunch ideas. Thanks!

Hey Donna - How did it go? I see you wrote that 6 days ago so hoping you have some fab results to report? I leave in 3 weeks exactly for our wedding in Cabo and my final dress fitting is in one week.... I'd like to lose about 3-4 pounds before we go. I'm doing the Wild Rose cleanse right now - if anyone hasn't done it ... I recommend it. I do it every spring and fall for health reasons but you usually drop a couple of pounds and it also makes you much more aware of what you are putting in your face! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
