We are having a very casual AHR following our wedding Bora Bora.  We are trying to plan some activities that our guests can have fun with throughout the night.  Can anyone provide any  ideas?  We are going to have a slideshow of pics from our trip, a fajita and taco bar, but would like to provide some fun for everyone.

You could do traditional reception events like:

      Intro of wedding party

      1st Dance

      Father/daughter dance

      Mother/son dance

      Garter Toss

      Bouquet Toss

      Money Dance

How does a fajita bar work? Is it a caterer or are you doing it yourselves?

We are having it catered.  The place we are using cooks everything, fajita meat and all the fixings.  It will be set up where our guests just go down the line and get what they want.

I like the shoe game. You know, when the bride and groom each hold one of their shoes and one of their partners, and they stand back to back. Then the Mcs (or whoever) ask questions, and they hold up the shoe to answer. Some questions are about past (Who said I Love You first?) and some are more futuristic (Who will do the dishes most often?)

I think we will be doing that one for sure. Always makes the guests chuckle. Just don't let it go on forever, and keep it light and sweet.

Dancing of course! The limbo! haha. You can run with it, i've been at a wedding where they had a sign that said "if dancings not your thing grab a buddy & play a game!" They had like card games & such.

I love the shoe game! Any other ideas for fun group activities like that?

Also loving the fajita/taco bar idea....hoping we can pull it off without catering.

We did the shoe game at our engagement dinner. It was so much fun. My husband got one of the answers wrong and everybody laughed so hard!

What kind of questions were you asked?

I have heard lots of good things about the shoe game! We are considering doing it.
