I'm personally a huge fan of eating as clean as you possibly can - lean + clean!  Lots of veggies, lean proteins to keep you feeling full + eating 5 smaller meals a day.
+1... I support clean eating 110%. But to sustain results, you have to look at this a lifestyle not a diet. The benefits go beyond your waste line. Additionally, I would incorporate weight training into your diet. This has a much higher impact on metabolism than just cardio alone. And don't worry you won't bulk up and look like a man. Just remember high reps and low weight. Best of luck!

I am trying to do things in stages. Stage #1 for me is to simply STOP eating when I am full, limit my portions. Etc...

It is very hard to do any kind of major lifestyle change cold turkey. Try to break it up into manageable goals. Once you have gotten used to one change, move on to tackling the next.

Also, I purchased the Power90 program (precursor to P90X, for those people like me that are COMPLETELY out of shape) and it so far has been fantastic at mixing some weight training in with cardio.

Good luck no matter what! I know it is difficult to do but you are not alone!!!

I am trying to watch the calories I eat, and have been using the MyFitnessPal app. I am not really cutting things out or only eating certain things, rather I am trying to make healthier choices, increase the amount of fruit and vegetables I eat, and watch portions. If I really want pizza, I will have only one piece versus four. If I deny everything that I have a craving for, then I am sure I will fail and go right back to eating whatever I want whenever I want.

I have also started to work out in the morning before getting ready for work. My FI starts work earlier than I do and his alarm goes off about a half hour before I would normally get up. Instead of dozing for that half hour, now I get up and pop in my workout video. I just started doing Jillian's 30 Day Shred which I really like so. I'm only on level 1 but it's a start for someone like me who has only been walking the dog for exercise.

I like the 30 day shred. I just started it this week on Monday and have already lost 4 lbs. I am also tracking what I eat, so I am sure it is a combination of the two. I have a pair of jeans that were just a bit too tight to wear before, but I am wearing them today! For me, I wasn't doing really any kind of exercise before, other than taking the dog for walks, so this video seems to help ease me into things and it isn't too hard that I want to just give up right away. I am looking forward to moving on to the next two levels to change things up a bit, and eventually adding in some other videos for a variety. I say give it a shot, it certainly can't hurt anything :)  You may end up moving right to the second or third levels if you have already been using the Power90, but it is a good workout for just under a half hour.

I really enjoyed this video http://www.hungryforchange.tv/

It shows you how counterproductive traditional diets are and how important it is to get in the habit of natural clean eating.  If your looking for some good recipes try these books  "the Best of Clean Eating" and "Quinoa THE EVERYDAY SUPERFOOD 365" I found both of these books at Costco.

I am recently addicited to Zumba for a fun way to get your cardio and I agree with ChocoTaco7568 weight training is so important.  The more muscle you have the higher your metabolic rate and the more calories you burn when you are resting!

Good luck and happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
