OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Lol, I can relate to filling out the forms! We did it the day before they were due!

And now, today, I just got word that another person has booked...and another two might still book...my biggest problem is that I don't have space at the tables for any more without doing a whole other table!!

I am trying to keep my panic and excitement hidden....but I think it's starting to show!

We only have 12! But I needed them lol. Do you have your time line for the reception? Its so hard planning such a small group bc there's nothing to compare it to. We want to have a simple sit down dinner, but still do the 1st dance etc. I'm thinking of asking to have the soup and salad brought out together, dances then cake cutting, then entrées. A dessert table so everyone can grab what they want when they're ready and the last hour just dancing. Ahh I have 10 days. Lol

I know! I'm having the small group problem as well. We're just going to do one long table. So I didn't think placecards were worth it.

I'm thinking of doing our first dance first, immediately following the start of the reception after we arrive. Having our dance. Our photographer is leaving an hour into our reception, so I want to do all the noteworthy stuff early on. I've been debating if I think that is too weird or not though.

6:00 arrive and have first dance

6:10 dance with parents and mingle until dinner at 6:30. Cake at 7:30. And then hang out and dance some until 9?

Ahhh thank you! ! We have 2 round tables to break the room up a little bit and then a sweetheart table. I like the idea of the questions 1st dance immediately. I think I'll go with that. What are you doing for music?

Music is one thing I have left still to decide. I can't decide if I should use my guitarist for the cocktails or ceremony...I haven't chosen any songs yet for either!

My concern is if I don't use the guitarist for the cocktail hour will there not be any music there? Or can I switch the sound system and the guitarist?

Ahh I've been debating that last minute also! We're using the saxophonist for the cocktail hour, bringing an ipod for ceremony and reception. We purchased a BOSE soundlink mini for music rather than pay 650$ for a sound system. This way we have it to use for other things and we know how the music sounds prior to the wedding day.

This Is my ceremony playlist as of now:

1. What a Wonderful world

2. Somewhere over the rainbow

3. Here comes the sun (instrumental) brides entrance

4. NOT SURE YET! Worried about the timing!!

5. Better together _ Jack Johnson

I intend on finalizing this later today. AHHH Cheers to having a day off!

Is the BOSE soundlink pretty loud? We're having our reception at the pool...so I worry about it getting drowned out. But I also struggle with the extra money for a sound system with so few people

I will be excited to hear how the BOSE system works out for you. My FI and I have been wondering this as we are having our reception at the Carnival Terrace next May. Will you let us know how it works out for you next week!! Congrats!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
