Hi! Sorry it took me so long to get back. Because of that $ vendor fee that can't be waived no matter how many flowers you get from the resort, I will just get all my flowers from my outside vendor. Initially I was going to have the chapel decorated by the resort. But if I'm paying the vendor fee anyway, I will just go with my vendor Floreira Riviera Maya. They charge way less than the resort. For example, if I got my entourage flowers from the resort I would be paying $1000 minumum. From Floreira, it is $600. Already that covers the vendor fee. I have heard the flowers from the resort aren't so great anyway. Total win if you get it from an outside vendor.

thank you soooo much for the response! yeah i wish i would be seeing more of those bouquets! do you have 10 bridesmaids? i believe the least bouquet i saw were $100? :)

have you see floreria rm bouquets? I will have to get at least 8 (if i want to use them as center pieces)

what are you doing for decorations?

We have the same idea to hit the clubs afterwards. Are you planning on changing to a different dress? I don't really want to because wedding gowns are so expensive and I want to take advantage of every single minute with it but I'm wondering what other people are doing.

i dont know if you have been to the clubs there but its a bit crowded to be with your wedding dress. I will be changing to a more comfortable short dress since i will be wearing mine for 7 hours already :P

Im hoping the lounge is good for a couple of hours for my guests before hitting the club! :P

That's true they can get crowded, especially in high season. Also the bigger the dress the more uncomfortable that would be. I haven't even tried any yet so I really don't know what they feel like hahah.

Hello brides!

I´ve read all the posts from page 1.  Emily I must say you looked beautiful in your wedding. I´m getting married at the resort on march 7th 2015, it´s more than 1 year away but i´m sure it will pass like a blur. I already have my dress apointmet at David´s bridal on june. Question brides, how long before the weeding did you buy your dress? I don´t know if june is too soon. OMG I´m so excited!

Congratulations on setting the date! :)

About the dress, it took about 6months for them to make mine, and another half a month to get it hemmed and fitted.

Have you thought about what styles you like? It's so exciting to look and try them on, but it can get very confusing because they're all so pretty :D

I have 4 bridesmaids but I have godparents. 12 of them. Each will have a buttonniere/corsage. Plus mum and dad and grandparents.l It adds up quickly!

I have seen pictures of their bouquets, which are nice. But my wedding colours are white red and gold, so it was hard to find a bouquet off their site to match my colours.I took some pictures off pinterest for them to copy :D

For the chapel I will have them decorate every other pew instead of every single pew, two big altar pieces, and rose petals on the aisle. Pretty standard. I'm hoping nobody will notice I scrimped on pew flowers lol! I picked arrangements that are kinda dangly and long to make up for it.

Are you guys going to organize the clubbing after? Like tranport, tickets, etc.. Like I know for coco bongo you have to get there pretty early to get in. Did you scope out any other good clubs?

  • 2 weeks later...

I was just curious.. Has anyone tried to use their aisle flowers for reception purposes?

Like the guest book table? Or the cake table? The resort is just going to throw them out after anyway. I have my centrepieces all sorted out for guest tables, but wouldn't it make sense to get more use out of them before they get tossed out?

I don't know where I read it but I'm under the impression that they don't allow you to take flowers out of the chapel after the ceremony. Thoughts?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
