Hello Everyone!  First off, congrats to all the Brides to be!  My fiancee and I are having our wedding at ERC as well, in late June 2016.  Thank you all for sharing your experiences and information.  Our wedding is set for 5pm on the beach.  In the process of confirming our cocktail hour at Las Olas and reception at the Lobster House.  We chose the Gold package.

    • Since our cocktail hour will be at Las Olas (once confirmed) will we need lights?  I think we should be okay with the daylight, right?
    • Will the Lobster House (once confirmed) have proper lighting for the reception?
    • Can anyone recommend a good photographer from the company the resort uses?
    • We chose the sound system versus a DJ.  Has anyone heard of any issues with using ERC's sound system?

Our WP is Alejandra.  She has been great so far.  Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Louis

@LouisSLB32  So you will be getting married soon?  I'm only a couple of weeks after you.  I think you will be ok for your cocktail hour but it all depends how long your photographs take. Maybe some brides who have already married will be able to provide better assistance.  We aren't having a DJ but I've not heard anyone complaining about any sound issues.

MY WP is Alejandra as well.  I'm just waiting for her to confirm my final decisions.  These WP have some much to deal with on a day to day basis.

@LouisSLB32     Hi Louis...I'm getting married the end of July and we also chose a 5pm ceremony and cocktail hour at Las Olas.   We're not getting any lighting for the cocktail hour. There should be plenty of daylight at that time.   I don't think you have anything to worry about.  In the event that it's dark at that time and you needed lighting, let me know! I'll still have a month to order before my wedding. haha

How many guests are you having?  We're having 20 including myself and my fiance.  The ceremony is on the pier and the reception will be on the beach.

I didn't even think of lights for the cocktail hour at las Olas. I'm getting married in January, but I assume it will be fine. Does las Olas have any lights at all?

@LouisSLB32 I think the Lobster House should have sufficient lighting because they also serve dinner at the restaurant there, but some couples like to add additional lighting for the ambience. There are a few pictures in this thread that others have posted showing the Lobster House that should give you a good idea of the lighting set up. What day is your wedding? I know the Lobster House is only available on Fridays as we tried to do it for a Sat wedding and they said no.

Me and my fiance have been discussing tipping and we wanted to know what you guys felt is appropriate/necessary. Who should we tip and how much?   We're definitely tipping out WP...but we don't have a clue as to how much we should give. And what about DJ, photographers, wait staff at cocktail hour and reception, sound people during ceremony, officiant, people in salon?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!   We're kinda lost when it comes to this.  lol

kjb0528     I don't think Las Olas has any lights.

@Tighev - Lol, i'll let you know how the lighting goes for Las Olas for our cocktail hour. If lighting is poor, I'll ask our guests to take out their iphones and turn on their flash lights, haha!  We have 30 guests, including my fiancee and I.  As far as tipping goes, that's good question, haven't thought about that.

@kjb0528 - Thank you for shedding "light" on my question, no pun intended, haha!  sorry, bad pun joke, lol.  Seriously, thank you for your information.  I'm hoping we don't need to add lighting, a string of 20 bulbs is $232.

@lynne1609 - Thank you for responding to my inquiry as well.

What transportation shuttle services are you all using?  I was thinking of going to www.expedia.com and booking, but if anyone knows of an affordable, reliable shuttle service, please let me know.  I would like to give this information to my guests as well.

        Thanks,

        Louis

@LouisSLB32    We use Olympus tours whenever we travel. We've never had a problem. The shuttle is clean, fairly new, and the drivers are always pleasant.

Has anyone had experience bringing your own lighting? Do they set it up for you and provide the extension cords?  And how many strings do I need for the beach?!   I'm having a freak out moment!   The strings consist of 20-25 bulbs per string.  Help!!!  We're officially 2 months away!
