Help with sand ceremony

Recommended Posts

I actually bought ours on ebay. They engraved the big vase with what we wanted, then we have the 4 small pouring vase's with our names engraved on them. I bought them in an Ebay store. So no bidding, they are brand new and the glass is beautiful. I think we got an excellent price, for the 5 pieces WITH engraving it cost 39.00!!! It took 3 days from ordering to receiving!! I guess I will pack paper towels and Saran wrap and tape to pack it up on the way home.

I love those!

We actually used a vase bought at Wal-Mart in Playa the day before, and 2 nautilus shells bought at a store across the street from the resort hours before the ceremony (I knew I wanted those shells, but couldn't find them, and did have a back-up plan!). I just picked up a cheap vase there because I knew I wouldn't keep the sand in an open vase because a. I have 2 kittens that prevent me from keeping almost anything out! and b. I didn't want dust to get in it. So, when I got home, I made this shadow-box to display the sand, a pic of the sand ceremony, and the words my MOH read for it.

  • 1 month later...

It was much easier then I thought it would be.... I topped off our vase with beach sand, then put about 3-4 layers of saran wrap around the top then put bubble wrap around it and put 3 rubberbands to hold it all on and it was FINE. The colors did bleed slightly into each other from laying on its side in my carryon but it looks cool, and its supposed to be blended, right? lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
