OFFICIAL Gran Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Thread

Yes, and they are the only ones allowed unless you have a photographer stay as your guest for a minimum of 5 days at the resort. So we can't say, hire a company from Playa for the day - which is why they feel they can charge so much.

Yes but those 10 are all we get. If you want more you have to hire them officially, or bring your own photographer. The 10 photos will be on CD. They won't print them out I bet. I'm not certain but it doesn't say we get 10 "prints", just "photos."

You can....I don't know how's mine is going to work. Months ago they sent me a list of package prices but none of them were just what I wanted (ie, I refuse to pay someone to photograph myself and Rich getting ready, I just think its stupid). So the other day they sent me an a la carte list and I can choose what I want them there for. I assume I will pay for them to photograph, and then again for actual photos. Anyone else so this?

Yes Arrecife are the photographers at the Bahia hotels - all the links to them are in the post above.    Depending on the package you have booked depends on the number of photos you get - you receive these on a disc along with a copy write disclaimer letter so you can do what you want with them - copy onto disc for others, get them printed in any style and size you wish.  We had the Unforgettable package it included 15 photos and booked another photo package and DVD if you wish  - its your choice which package you book, I have attached the brochure we received in April 2013.  NOTE the photos you receive in your package are only of the wedding ceremony.  We booked the package with 50 photos also the package with 15 photos at the Hacienda (Thursday night is Mexican Fiesta party night at the Hacienda so you need to be there before 5pm as they are setting up the tables, chairs, games etc)  We ended up with 190 edited photos from which we had to select 65.

Regarding the musical trio again we had them as included in the Unforgettable package, they play when your guests arrive and whilst groom waiting on brides arrival.  If you wish them for any longer that is something you would have to arrange and get a price for separately with the WC however  I doubt you would get them to play through dinner as you cannot close the restaurant off to other guests - unless your wedding party is so big you take over the whole restaurant.

Enjoy the journey :)

I am confused on the prices for the poolside reception?

Also, we are planning to book our trip this weekend to the Gran Bahia for our wedding.... We plan to book it for August 2014.

We are thinking of having our wedding on august 1, august 6, or august 8.... However, we are not sure when is the best time to book our during the month of August due to heat and rain.... Is it better that we book it at the early, middle, or end of the month for August 2014?

Thank you :)

Sincerely,

Kat

Re Marriachi band, we had the Unforgettable package and they played for 30-45 minutes during dinner, it was so cool.

As the month of August advances, the chances of rain go higher.  It was my second time there in August but I always went in the first and it was hot as hell but beautiful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
