I emailed Viviana a few months ago to check on this and she confirmed that at the PPR this was not the case, there is no fee for photography unless you have to pay their day pass if they are staying off site.

Now that Viviana is gone I have been trying to get an email confirmation from the new coordinator just to confirm again.

I was just wondering if anyone else heard about this new policy at the PPR and what your thoughts are.
I have a confirmation email from Teresa that all we need to pay is the day pass fee if the photog is not staying there :) It sounded like Michael was going to check into staying there.. so we might not have to worry at all :)

Thanks everyone.

Josh - do you think you could share your photos when you get back from the PPR?

Also if possible, if you have time can you get some shots of the Gabi Terrace? That is where I am having my reception and there are only a few angles I have seen but it would be great to see more.

Thanks!!

I'll see if I can post some of my HM pics at PPR - we have several of the Gabi Terrace. Very pretty location!

Also, I was married at PPC and our photogs stayed at a neighboring resort and actually just walked up the beach and into our resort with no problems, so were able to shoot w/o even paying the day pass fee.

Also, if you already have email confirmation from Viviana, don't keep asking. Just take that email with you and stand firm since you have it in writing already. You don't want them to change their mind, lol.

Just an FYI, Teresa seems very reasonable. I was very nervous about things being switched on me with a new planner. I'll give you last night as a typical example, when I had my first mini-meltdown 6 weeks before the wedding. She sent me my Romance Planner and the quote on there for the Aqua package was $1,000 higher for 20 people and then $20 higher for each additional person. Since we are having about 50 people, it worked out to around $1600 extra (plus taxes,so I thought...) Plus I am already paying an extra $10/head to add the beach barbecue entree part to my buffet. So I tried to be calm in the e-mail which I sent around 11pm last night, but basically said Viviana sent me the budget calculator like, 5 times, and it was always the same price for the Aqua. Not sure where you are getting your numbers from but that is quite the discrepancy... Anyway I had an e-mail from her when I woke up this morning and she basically said that the price she gave me had the taxes included and that actually she realized Viviana sent me the 2008 prices (which I didn't even realize), but that she spoke to her manager and they'd be happy to honor those prices.

I have to say I was quite pleased and surprised... But based on what I've heard, I'm still bringing my e-mails! :)

  • 3 weeks later...

teresa seems nice but so far it has been a nightmare because many things vivianna promised me were either overcharged, undercharged or not included as she they were. i am goign back and forth with teresa with this and she will not budget even with the proof of the emails between me and vivianna...i am very upset and disappointed and it is very unprofessional. i will start lookign for another resort in case what i was promised by vivianna does not happen. an example is that teresa found 1300.00 f overchagred taxes and shes using that as her example of her doing me a favor when thats really part of her job, TO MOT OVERCHARGE. i told her thank you for catching the error but that was not a favor. its clearly an example of the misleading practice vivianna had. something vivianna stated was included in the package, tersa says is extra and she says she already took off 1300. thats how she claims to be doign me a favor but its not. im not asking for anythign free but only what i was promised. anyone else having these problemshuh.gif PS thank you for the miami # idea, it worked!! oh, she even admitted that many brides are complaining that vivianna even made up things!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
