@Janet...thanks for the info.  I will go check her out.  No, I haven't said what my colours will be yet.  I'm thinking pinks and blues.  We're not having a wedding party...just the two of us at FI's request.

My wedding shoes are teal and I am thinking I will get pink flip flops of some sort for after the wedding.

Love those purses!  So cute!  If I was having a wedding party, I would definetly by getting those for my girls.  Maybe I can just get one for me!!

You bet!  Here are a few things...I'm calling this my "experimental phase" with VP... ; )

I ordered a couple of large self-inking stamps but threw one away, as my imported design (our passport logo below) was just waaaay too small in that context.

We ordered a bundle of postcards to include with the welcome bags...and I think my favourite things to arrive were the calendar fridge magnets.  I'm always trying to figure out the date when I'm down in the kitchen and can never find a calendar!  We're going to include these in Christmas cards to friends and family at the end of the year.  With our downloaded passport stamp, we tried customizing pens, sticky notes, and note pads.  I ordered a few free sets of business cards with our stamp to try.  We'll punch a hole in one corner and use them as welcome bag tags, pashmina tags, etc.  They need to be jazzed up a little...I think I'll buy some fuchsia paper and mount the tags on the bright paper, trim them up, punch a hole and tie on with a bright funky ribbon.

Some bags for the VIPs we'll be rolling up and putting into the welcome bags...

Totally switching focus, these are the banners we ordered for our AHR...the fabric I would describe as similar to a super heavyweight plastic tablecloth maybe???

These are the lawn signs, made out of corrugated plastic cardboard.  Don't forget to order the free lawn stand as you order the free signs!  These we ordered for FI's mom who will be hosting the after party the evening of our AHR.

These we ordered for my parents who will be hosting a bbq the evening before our AHR for my side of the family...

I just had my 2nd of 3 shots of the TwinRx vaccination.  I work in the dental field so I have to have my Hep B shot anyways, but I would never take the risk of going away and not being vaccinated for that specific country.  I have seen first hand what can happen to patients that decided not to get the vaccines bc they think it wont happen to them if they are careful.  You can never be too careful when it comes to your health.  The effects from contracting Hepatitis can be horrible, even fatal.  This is not something I am willing to put my family through.  My FI and 7 yr old son are all being vaccinated for our Jan 2012 Wedding.  That is only my opinion though.

If your not sure, maybe talk to your pharmacist or doctor.  The vaccinations are covered by some insurance plans, but if you dont have insurance, prepare to pay quite a bit for it.

Good luck in your decision!

If anyone is a DIY'r I did my own Travel mugs.  I got the idea from another BDW'r who did her own mugs too.  I went to Dollarama and bought all the travel mugs that I needed (metallic kind of looking blue plastic) for $1.00 each and then had my monograms that Rebecca did from AllurementsbyRebecca and sent them to vista print to make stickers.  I placed the stickers on the cleaned travl mugs and then bought the plastic adhesive book cover from dollarama as well and put that over my stickers so that they would be water proof.  They turned out really great and my mugs only cost me $45.00 for 40 mugs completely finished.

The travel mugs are the last thing on my list for my oot bags, I am having such a hard time with these too! I am going to check out this website.

I got my 3 TwinRx when i went to PPC in 2009. My doctor highly recommended it and once you have the 3 TwinRx i beleive you are good for upwards of 20 years. For Punta Cana they also recommend Malaria pills. My friends father is a doctor and he was also highly recommending it. Better safe then sorry.

I agree! the long term effects are just not worth it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
