I am flying West Jet, and it sounds like they are very strict. I am bringing my dress as carry-on, but that counts as the only carry-on that I am allowed. Plus it doesn't sound like it gets a special compartment anywhere, it has to be crammed with other people's stuff :(

Our plane is sold out too so hopefully the other passengers are sympathetic. Haha then again, 78 of the 120 person flight are my guests, so hopefully no problems lol.

My opinion is that the OOT bags is whatever you are able to spend. I would not worry too much about the costs as I don't think a lot of guests expect them (I know mine certainly don't). I have also talked to some others (not in the forum) who have been to multiple destination weddings and they never got anything (not even a favor). In the end I think it depends on what you would like to give your guests and how much you are able to spend. We probably spent about $25 a bag (estimate) and are doing 1 per couple or single person. But we are making sure there is double in each bag for couples (if that makes sense, so like 2 cups, 2 key holder/tip things etc)

That is so exciting that you are leaving so soon!! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back! I am sure they will figure something out for your dress. You are the bride after all and have most of the plane filled with your guests! I think you should at least get some place to put your dress where it won't get squished or damaged!

I made them per couple, and for the single people, they each got their own.

We spent about $8/person averaged, but I think in retrospect I would have gotten less. I just found the fun stuff after I'd already bought other stuff hehe. If I could go back in time, I would only have bought the sunglasses and the Factory 21 Mugs.

Jodez, you can spend whatever you like on OOT bags, depending on what you put in them, We did per couple and single people get their own. Just the OOT bag items will probably average out to cost $3 (yay Vistaprint and dollar store) each bag, though if we put our favours in there it will be much more. Have not decided that yet.

You can really do whatever you like with them. Make them as extravagant or simple as you like. :)

For my loot bags, I'm going to make it really practical. Bandaids, aloe vera, emergence packets, advil, tiger balm, wipes, tums, anti you know what, etc. I was going to add Pringles, cookies, etc., but I thought everyone is going to eat and drink way too much on this trip, why add to it? Tiger balm is great for bites, headaches or tummy aches. I'm also going to make a currency exchange chart so people can easily whip it out and figure out the cost.

I've got ideas for what to put in, but I'm curious as to what you meant by this? Thanks so much for everyone's thoughts! I was honestly starting to think this was going to turn into a ridiculous amount, and am SO relieved it really doesn't have to be. I want our guests to know I appreciate them, but needed the reassurance, I guess!

I loaded up on free stuff. It used to be easier to find.

Notebooks and notepads, sticky notes, pens, keychains, and I made 5 postcards per person.

Things like that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
