There is a living social deal out again for StickerYou.:

http://www.livingsocial.com/canada/cities/81-edmonton/deals/529556-three-custom-sticker-sheets

I used this to make stickers for my Mugs, so that the guests could write there name on them. I was afraid that they would mix them all up without having a way to identify them. The stickers are waterproof/sunproof, and stick really well.

Using the website took some practise, but I definitely recommend the stickers.

You still have to pay shipping on top of the deal ($6 if you get the 3 sheet option, but more if you buy more)

I used the oval food labels and you get 36 stickers /page:

ahhhhhhhh so much going on in my head right now hahaha

I was doing mugs as my favour and a survival kit just as a little thank you. But then I decided to give the mugs out at xmas and wanted to give something extra on the night of the wedding, so I am giving these: http://www.orientaltrading.com/personalized-wedding-cookie-cutters-with-card-a2-5_1220-12-1.fltr?Ntt=cookie+cutter

They work out to 70 cents each, and I think its nice that everyone can have something, no matter how little, on the day of the wedding.

My OOTs are pretty minimal though. If you're spending a bunch on OOTS then I think thats sufficient.

I am doing OOT bags and favours but we're having a pretty small wedding (we did 16 OOT bags altogether and are having 24 guests at our wedding). For the OOT bags, I spent more on the beach bags than anything else and I included a small Wedding Week Survival Kit and a welcome letter (probably spent $15-20 per OOT bag altogether). For favours we are getting hand painted maracas made. We wanted guests to have something at the wedding and then they are getting the bags in the rooms when they arrive at the resort.

Don't feel like you have to give favours as well as bags, but I think that more people expect favours than bags. If I had to choose I would've chosen the bags over favours, but at least done something small (like we're having a small thing of bubbles with our names and wedding date on them) for a favour at the wedding.

We're doing a few small things as our way of saying thanks - both with gifts and an experience.

- A welcome gift: a small photo album with a welcome/thank you letter from my FI and I, a map of the Suites that we personalized with our own events, and an itinerary of our planned events over the week. The welcome letter invites them to fill their album with photos of the wedding/trip afterwards...and we plan to send everyone a photo to include in it with our wedding thank you cards.

- Bubbles and fans at the ceremony

- Jerk seasoning and Blue Mountain coffee favours at dinner

- Wish lanterns at beach party following dinner

- 2 hr catamaran cruise the day after the wedding

Our thinking behind everything was:

a) we have a small group (27 incl us) so we deemed we could afford to do all of this

B) we didn't want to have to cart 25 OOT bags of stuff with us, along with all the other decor items we're already bringing

c) it was important for us to reflect us, our interests/personalities: photography (photo albums), bubbles (childhood nickname, plus they're fun and will pretty for photos!), and we're foodies (jerk and coffee)

d) this entire trip is really about creating a memorable experience with our friends and family, hence the catamaran cruise (read: likely not something they'd treat themselves to)

Hope this helps!

My plan is to do a CD favor for everyone with a bunch of reggae love songs. I know CD's are overrated now but they can download and put on their ipods when they get home. I'm also doing a bottle of appleton rum with their name and table number for them to keep. We are also likely having an evening boat cruise with coctails after the rehearsal dinner for everyone to come on. That or a bbq bonfire.

I wasn't planning on doing an OOT bag but am thinking ppl may want something to carry their treats in. So I am considering getting a Jute bag for easy carrying and then I'll hang it all in the bag on the chair. Doing a program for the ceremony that I got the paper/bow kit from Michaels. Was going to do a fan but my friend pointed out that they'll either use the fan or read the program. But not both. So figure if they want to fan themselves with the program, go ahaed...am I being cheap??

Lol!

Ok so for those of you ordering items online and wanting to avoid the customs/shipping/duty charges. I jsut found out about a mailbox co in Buffalo, very close to teh border that will accept goods on your behalf and hold for pickup for a $5 flat fee. Over 70lbs is $10.95 per pkg. You can have everything shipped there and pickup all at once. I think that's a fabulous idea. The other day I tried to order supplies from the knot.com and was told sorry, we don't ship to canada. the price for parasols was like $5. The price i found here in canada was $15-$20 ea for the same thing. And today and all wknd many co's have free shipping for american Black friday sales.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
