Those are a great way to keep track of invitations, especially if you tend to misplace things like I do. I'm not exactly sure as to when you should sent them out, it's kind of up to you as long as you allow enough time. My sister used these save the date magnets for her wedding and it was a big help considering she sent them out one year before the wedding. I got it in the mail and stuck it on the refrigerator. It was very convenient.

My wedding is 10/11/12, My STD's are ordered and should be here in a week or 2. I will be sending them out right away. I will be sending a formal invitation 4-5 months before the wedding. I was amazed that our TA prints them for us no charge!! Our TA's info and our website info are on the STD's  We are also having a at home reception, and the date for the AHR is on the STD too.

We are planning on having our wedding in 2014! I know it's a long ways away but some of my friends who have had destination weddings and I are having a discussion on whether right now is too early to send out STD's to our guests. On one hand I think no because have some friends who we want knowing that we will have our wedding 2014 and it will be a destination. And then on the other hand, we don't even know which month, where and all the more important details for that. So for now, my fiance and I are undecided...

I am having and destination wedding 11/2012 in Punta Cana. I have a couple of resorts in mind but it will depend on how much it will cost my guests (air + hotel ) and I will only be getting the prices around Nov/Dec.So I was thinking about sending some sort of STD/invitation telling my guests the info I got for now, including a website, and asking them if they are interested in coming to give me an idea how many people will join us. The one's who do respond that they are interested, I will send them the rest of the info when I get it (via mail or e-mail)  who to contact, as well as a  sheet about the shots they need to take, reminder about passport and things they should pack. Think it's a good idea ???

I want to let them know a least a year in advance so they can save up.

Also a good idea Andrea28. I just got my save the dates and I will be working on addressing and mailing them out within the next couple weeks. My wedding date is 10/11/12 at Ocean Blue & Sand  in Punta Cana. I want to give my guest at least a year to plan both financially  and with vacation days with work and all.
