Recommended Posts

Hi Jade28

Great advice, My wedding is July 28th and I too will be using outside vendors. Do you have a website for your floral service? I would like to see some of their sample work.. Also, great ideas for your welcome bags, I especially like the hangover kit, please tell me more (smile)

Thanks

Hello everyone!

Thought I'd stop creeping on the forums and actually join one!  We are getting married 2/17/12 at the Suites.  Aside from confirming the date, haven't done much planning, prolly should get started on that soon... now trying to decide on a photographer (Sungold or Misha Earle) since I've read the resort photographer isn't all that great and is super expensive.

Anyone know when we start emailing Nicole with our choices (restaurant, location, etc) or does she contact us?  I emailed her 2 weeks ago but haven't gotten a response.

Thanks and looking forward to lots of discussion!

-Shellie

Hello 2012 Brides,

I am in the process of booking a date for my July wedding at the Iberostar. I am getting a little nervous because booking this date has been more work than I thought. Plus, I read that someone already sent out their save the dates. I feel so behind.

Congratulations and Welcome!  I'm a July Suites bride.

Picking the resort and destination was absolutely the hardest part of this whole process for us.  Once that was done, the stress for the wedding is as much or as little as we want to make it.  I need to keep my DIY projects in check... cheesy.gif

You are definitely not behind.  Yes, some of us have sent our save the dates for our wedding next summer, but no reason to worry.  You have plenty of time.  Oh, there is a dedicated Iberostar thread so definitely check that out.  A vast amount of information for all 3 properties in Jamaica.

Hi TGreen,

I'm planning on getting married in June 2012 and I've done nothing!  I just decided on the Iberostar and reserved a date a couple of days ago...but now I'm doubting that decision again.  I booked the Grand, but I'm trying to decide if that makes sense and if any of my guests will actually stay at the Grand.  If they all end up at the Suites, then I might as well just get married there (and save money on those day passes).  BUT I'm also checking out Negril.  I would love to do a small AI boutique hotel...but many of those in Negril do no allow kids!

I feel really behind, but we're trying to avoid hurricane season and we want to stay away from the fall holidays and the high winter season.  I'm hoping to finalize a hotel this weekend or early next week.  And get out my save the dates in mid-October.  But the invites would have to follow soon after.

Hi MKing!  I booked my photographer....Marcia Roberts!  I have a room block at the hotel but nobody besides me and my parents have booked a room yet! :)  I think I'm going to use Tia Flora for my flowers....they have been very responsive and the pics they sent me look really good.  I had some communication with Godfrey but his quote wasn't much lower than Tia Floras.  I think I'm going to use the resort DJ, so I'm not sure I'll need any other outside vendors.  I've heard good things about a a makeup artist in the area but I'll probably just use the hotel staff for that.   How many people are you expecting?  Do you have your dress yet?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
