Congrats Junelove! I am so happy to hear you had a great time. My wedding is March 8th and I was really nervous about all of my guest meeting up on time that is a great idea to set expectations in the welcome bag! How did you get the welcome bags to your guest?

I am having my wedding on August 17th. There is a $3 charge per bag to have them delivered to the room. Ask your wedding planner to add it to your itemized bill. Hope that helped! =)

Hi Ginamapi,

Your photos are absolutely incredible... i ended up contacting Michael Steingard and unfortunately he isn't available on my wedding day :( he suggested Phil Steingard and Samantha Erin... Phil also isn't available and i'm having a hard time getting in touch with Samantha... Having a tough go over here for a photographer.

I'm looking for a specifc style of photography (i'm only being picky cause its my wedding pics ;) ) and Michael Steingard and Samantha Erin are exactly what i'm looking for. Do you know of any others out there that are similar? possibly based in Toronto area?

Also, i would love to take you up on your offer on the pre travel brochure and luggage tags templates... thats an awesome idea!!!

I'm thinking about doing engraved Bubba mugs in our bags too :)

I just kinda feel lost right now with all this planning so i'm open to all advice... this blog has been awesome.

Thanks again!!!!

Invitations I used Marry me Designs. By far best price i found even if I tried to do them myself she was still cheaper for what I wanted. - http://www.marrymedesigns.com/

Photography I used Michael Steingard who is AMAZING! My pictures are more than I could have asked for. I am a photographer so pictures for me were sooo important and his style was exactly what I wanted. Heres a peak at some of the pictures from our day. We have sooo many more that he tookbut these are what he picked for what he calls the wedding story. http://www.naturalanthem.com/mikesteingard/ginaandmikewedding/

and here is his website. http://michaelsteingard.com/

Videography I used Chris LoBello Productions. Again the video was something that was very important to me. I knew I wanted to be able to relive that day over and over. We met Chris and Valerie at my best friends wedding and loved his work! It was like watching a tv show so we knew we had to have him come to the DR and film our wedding. Here is our wedding recap video. https://vimeo.com/58671392

I am in love with it!!!! And here is his website- http://www.chrislobelloproductions.com/

I also hav all the templates I created for our save the dates, pre travel brouchure and luggage tags we sent to everyone, the welcome books we gave out to everyone in the welcome bags, and the other things we put in the bags. Message me if you want any of them or have any questions! I know I felt so confused when planning and trying to figure it all out so I would love to help anyone that needs it :)

THANK YOU FOR THOSE DETAILS! I'm super new to this site and your thread is really helping me :) I have a terribly tacky question for you, as my finance and I are trying to work out our dw budget --- with the options you ended up choosing for your wedding/ceremony/welcome/cocktail/brunch, can you give me a ball park number I would expect to spend if our guests were half the amount of yours??? I want to get married at HRPC and our budget is around $20,000. Do you think that's doable??? THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH! MaggieC

I had my symbolic ceremony there on June 13th.

The resort:

It was AMAZING!!!! The place is beautiful.....pictures do not do it justice. Plus it is super cool with all the memorabilia and awesome music playing at all times. You are walking around the resort and will hear Billy Joel one minute, the Beatles the next, then STP. Super cool. The water is beautiful....they have these cool little huts on the beach for shade....so nice! The pools are fun. They all have a different feel to them, some are laid back, some loud bc of the DJ and games. The food is really good....Zen and Toro were our favorite places for dinner. We mostly ate breakfast at the buffet and lunch was burgers by the pool. The rooms are huge for a hotel! Big double head shower, giant jacuzzi tub in the middle of the room. Not all balconies have a beach view....so our view was of the gardens, which is still nice. The resort is massive, but they have trollies taking you to the pools and beach area, but it's not a bad walk at all (esp after a big breakfast!). Night life is great. They have the Sun Bar which was Karaoke and pool tables, the Moon Lounge (which was our favorite bc of the decor...big purple chairs, chandeliers) which has a DJ, the Casino, and then Oro the nightclub which was free the night we went for hotel guests. The only downfall was the noise, bc it is all tile and the halls are open air, so when people are coming in late at night you hear everything! We thought our phone was ringing in our room, but it was the room across the hall! But that was minor! I would definitely go back!

The Ceremony:

The wedding ceremony was beautiful.  The coordinators there are very friendly and helpful.  We got there on a Monday, met with them on Tuesday and finalized all the details, set up spa appointments, set up honeymoon dinners, our breakfast in bed, etc.  They really do it up for honeymooners!  The ceremony location was Isla Beach which is gorgeous!  It is all the way on one end of the resort so it is somewhat private...but don't worry they pick up up right before on a golf cart so no walking to get there (but they don't bring you back, FYI!)  I was worried about the minister not speaking English, but he did and was so nice and gave a beautiful ceremony!  It was just my husband and I so it was really only 5-10 minutes and that was it!

The pictures:

We used Katya Nova for our pictures....which I am so lucky that we were able to get her!

I have no words to express how my husband and I feel about our pictures from Katya and Rob.  Love does not even come close!  I have looked at them no less than 20 times and I cry just about every time!  I still can't believe it is us in these amazing pictures…..they look like they need to be in a fashion magazine! We will never be able to decide which our favorite is; the next one is always our favorite!  Katya and Rob are just as sweet, fun, and genuine in person as they present on the Internet, which is hard to come by these days when you are dealing with wedding vendors or anyone trying to sell you something.  They really took the time to get to know us separately and as a couple and it truly shows in our pictures. You can tell that this is more than just a job for them, it is a passion.  We had the best time with them taking pictures, hanging out, laughing and just generally having a great time!  It was really one of the highlights of our trip.  From the pre-wedding in our hotel room, the ceremony, post ceremony, and the sunrise Rock the Dress session we had a blast! You wouldnâ€t think taking pictures would be so much fun! We were so blessed to find each other and just as lucky to have them capture the start of our lives in such a beautiful way.  They are worth every penny!  You can check out our pictures on her blog,   http://www.katyanovablog.com/hard-rock-punta-cana-elopement-stef-donnie/

I hope this helps, if you have any other questions please feel free to ask!

(I really don't know why the font size keeps changing...must be all the copy and pasting...sorry!)

I had my symbolic ceremony there on June 13th.  I left a review of the resort as well as the wedding staff.  I also used Katya Nova for photography, I have a review of her as well.....she is an amazingly talented person and is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside!  You can see our photos here http://www.katyanovablog.com/hard-rock-punta-cana-elopement-stef-donnie/

    • Hi Brides! I have a Wally Bag - 66" available - $90 + shipping (US only) The wally bag typically sells for $120-$180. I used this gown bag once to transport my dress from MN to Mexico for our wedding - IT WAS PERFECT!   I was actually able to pack 4 additional maxi dresses, and my husband's wedding attire, plus a few pairs of shoes and some jewelry. I packed the dress the night before we left, and just moments before we left, I zipped the bag and folded it - ready for travel. It comes up with a nice over-the-shoulder strap, making it really easy to carry through the airports. No issues on Delta with the bag as my carry-on - I chose to put in the overhead bin, but the flight attendant did offer to hang it in the closet for me. Once we got to the resort, about 10 hours after I first folded the bag, I unpacked the bag and my dress was perfect - no wrinkles! My dress was mostly lace and had a bit of a train, but it arrived perfectly!  Honestly, this is the best way to travel with your dress!
