Nice! I get to the resort on the 14th. Hope all goes well! We are doing a symbolic ceremony...we heard its way easier. Any luck with communication this week? I had to send a not so friendly email, and now I have my second conf call set for next week.

We have had zero communication from our WC (Maylen) & are extremely frustrated.  Countless emails, phone calls (both to her and also through the hotel), posts on HRPC Facebook page....and still haven't gotten our questions answered.

Are any of you doing the civil ceremony?  I'm working on getting all the paperwork done, but since I haven't gotten response from HRPC, I figured I would ask here....

Regarding the translation of documents, does this include the wedding contract, declaration of single status, birth certificate?  Anything else?

We were happy to have found this site & this thread!!

I am a USA bride and am doing a civil ceremony. Renee sent over a whole page of paperwork that is required for the civil ceremony. It is a 500 charge and you have to have all documents sent off to the Dominican Consulate to be translated. You then have to send that over to her before your arrival and bring all originals (translated and in English) with you. The ceremony is also performed in Spanish. The wedding coordinators are available to translate for you at no extra cost. You are also allowed to have someone get up and speak at some point if you would like certain things said in English. The symbolic ceremony seems wayyyy easier but my fiance and I didn't like the idea of getting married before we got down there and having just a symbolic ceremony. I hate to add to the list of things that have changed with the new "transition" but I just read today on the Hard Rock facebook page that now when you use your "free" resort credits you will be taxed 16% on whatever you use and it will be added to your final bill. SO the free credits are basically no longer free which is absolutely ridiculous. I called my travel agent today and she is calling to look into this.

We had a phone meeting set with Maylen for Wednesday (yesterday) at 1pm CST, at 1:30 after no call from Maylen, we called her.  Apparently Maylen is no longer with HRPC or Palace.  We spoke with Michelle, who promised that someone would call me by the end of the week.  We have ZERO faith in receiving that call.  We're so frustrated now that we're considering changing to a different resort....but we really don't want to have to go through all the hassle that would be involved.

@Teenyclt.....we're also doing a civil ceremony, but were not aware that the ceremony would be in Spanish.

Hello all

My fiance and I were planning on having our wedding the Hard Rock but this lack of communication is unacceptable. I have even been in touch with the manager who I have made several phones call to none of which were answered. I reached her via email basically stating our grievances and it took her several days to respond. Then with our reply email emphasizing poor communication, we are still waiting for an email back. We are most likely going to the Paradisus palma Real now. Has anybody heard anything about it there?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
