We just got engaged on New Year's eve!!  We love Cuba and he asked me after dinner while we were in Cuba with friends and family!!  We have been together for almost 4 years.  This is both of our 2nd marriage, and I want a destination (Cuba) wedding.  I need help ladies!!

1st problem- His parents live and are American citizens, who do I contact, to get permission for them to come?  (Wedding can't happen in Cuba if they can't be there)

2nd problem- I'm adopted and want my adopted father to walk me down the isle (bio dad has passed away) but bio mom and siblings want to come to the wedding.  Do I just get my 15 (will be 17 at wedding) year old to walk me down the isle?  I don't want to offend anyone, but adopted dad will be upset, he did walk me down the isle for 1st marriage, bio family didn't come to that one.

3rd problem- Having a hard time finding orange accend beach wedding gowns in Canada (Ontario), I love orange, and fiance even custom ordered the ring with 2 orange hearts and 8 smaller diamonds, cause I love the color!!

Any help would be appreciated

Congratulations your ring is very unique and pretty!

1st. I'm an American not sure 100% sure about getting to Cuba but, I have heard of ppl who fly into Canada and leave from there, do not know how legit that is though

2nd. I do not see any problem with your adopted Dad walking you down the aisle, I'm sure your bio family is aware what that means to you, but having your teenager walk you down would be a cool way to include him

can't help you wiht the orange dresses in Canada though..good luck!

Congrats!!!!!!

I know Obama approved travel to Cuba, but I think it was only for journalist.  It's true Americans can get to Cuba from Canada, but if caught, there are hefty fines!

I think you should have your adopted Dad walk you down the aisle.  It's your wedding!!!  Your bio family should just be happy for you and not worry about who's walking you down!

Are you looking for an orange wedding gown or bridesmaid gown?!

Congratulations!

Yes, it is possible if your future in-laws fly out of Canada.

I think it's fine for whomever you choose to walk you down the aisle. If Bio family is attending, that's great and they should understand.

I had my dresses custom made in China, so you could potentially pick a design and they will make whatever you want in any colour.

I am looking for orange wedding gown, actually kinda like this, but with orange (lighter) than pink.  It says it is from China, so maybe I should contact them?the dress.jpg

I have heard that they can fly out of Canada, but my future FIL was in the military in the USA, so he could lose his pension if caught, so they want to go the legal route.  I will call around in the US to find out.

Congrats on your recent engagement!

You will need to get special permission for Americans travelling into Cuba.  And if you chose to go through a different country, such as Canada or Mexico, you can get hefty fines (such as 5000-10000) and/or also spend time in jail (not recommended!)  This personally happened to a close friend of mine, so please please look into it carefully!

I think you should have who ever you want walk you down the aisle!  It's your wedding and your special day!

Find a bridal store that carries Alfred Angelo wedding gowns.  They have a lot of gowns that have color in them and you can change it to whatever you want, even orange!

Happy Planning:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
