Hello,

I seem to be a week ahead of you in my planning:)  We sent a request and heard back in two days.  We decided on G.P. and sent in all of our information last Friday.  Wednesday I heard that our information was received and I would receive another email when it was processed.  I am hoping that we are confirmed soon.  I have been trying to take everyone's advise and not stress, but I am excited and anxious too:)  I hope this helps:)

Question for anyone...... When I give her the go ahead, my travel agent can only hold our rooms for two weeks at the price she quoted.  Our wedding isn't until June 7, 2012.  How did you let people know this far ahead?

hi!

how much is the beach BBQ running you? we decided not to go with a private reception, bc of the 45pp charge, we decided to have a cocktail reception following the ceremony with the steel drum band playing during that hour. our wedding coordinator told me that we couldn't have anything on the beach...

We are also doing a beach BBQ that night with our guests, but I believe ours is private....at least she hasn't mentioned otherwise....I should probably look into that!  haha! We are renting the resorts sounds system and microphone for 4 hours, so we will be having a reception on the beach that evening from 6 to 10.   We will do all toasts, speeches, and cake cutting that night.

BeachBridein11, I have not visited that site, so that is great advice!  Thank you!  I can't wait to hear what you think after your big day...which is just around the corner!!  yay!!!

What are you ladies doing for ceremony music?  I really like the idea of the steel drums, but it seems so pricey for a ceremony that will not last longer than 20 minutes.

Also, who are you using for photography?

Thanks, ladies!  Congrats to you both!

Heather

Only hold for 2 weeks?!? You might want to find a new TA, you should be able to hold the rate for a lot longer. Is she referring to just the contract? You should be able to sent up a group contract that will hold the rate for a specific number of rooms up to about 2 months prior.

Hbond,

The beach BBQ is $55/ person, but there is no fee for the beach (I believe there is a fee for the other reception sites in addition to the per person fee).  I am not sure why they told you nothing on the beach...that is very odd.  We are also renting the sound system for the beach bbq, so we will actually have our reception on the beach from 6 pm to 10 pm.  However, one thing I have started worrying about that I did not consider when we decided on this.....what if it rains?!?!?!  For this reason, I decided to try and book a different form of reception, but all of the other areas are now booked.  Sooooo, we are stuck with it.  But, I would recommend you consider other options.  Hope this helps!

BeachBridein11,

Thank you for the advice, I will look into it.  We only need eight rooms, so we don't have a contract... but she said that if we get to the magic number of ten, then we do.  If we could hold the rooms for two months, I would be less stressed.

Your wedding looked amazing and is one of the reasons we selected G.P. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
