What's the Etiquette for this Situation?

Recommended Posts

LOL  Feels so good to vent, eh?  I will have to agree with cookiemunchkin, I should probably get it off my chest and ask her and hopefully she really didn't mean what she said.  Either way, as days go by, I know it won't bother me as much.  My MoH is great and so is my other bridesmaid!!  They are so excited for me, even when I have my down moments.  I'm sorry you don't have that Queendiva and MyPaperProposal... I hate to ask, but is there anyone else who has stepped up and should be your MoH?

I'm thinking that if things don't work out with my current MOH, I may just not have one at all.  We're only have twenty people at the wedding, so we are only having a MOH and a Best Man... There are a couple of girls going that I could ask to stand up with me, but they've only met my fiance a couple of times, so I'm not sure it feels right.

hehe maybe you two should be each other's new MOHs! ;)

it sucks when we find out exactly where we stand with some friends. trust me when i tell you that you will not think about the people who chose not to attend your wedding ONE BIT on wedding day. it somehow works out that exactly the right people will be there.

Update....

She emailed me the other day asking if I was mad at her 'cause she choose a date that I wouldn't be able to attend.  Long story short, I told her I was upset I couldn't attend her wedding, but wasn't holding that against her.  I told her I was mad about the other available date... it was either I misheard or she mispoke, but the other date was NOT my wedding!  So we're good.  Still stinks I can't go to the wedding, but at least I still have a friend!

I'm glad that you were able to resolve things, even if you cannot attend.  The last 2-3 years ALL of my friends have been getting married so at times people have conflicts.  One of my best friends announced that she was pregnant about 4 months before our wedding so she didn't make it.  Of course I wanted her there but I understood.  As long as you have a reasonable explanation for not being able to attend, and make sure that you celebrate with her in another way (bridal shower, bachelorette party, etc), then you guys should be fine :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
