Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

About Me:  My fiance and I have been together 6 1/2 yrs (it's about time he popped the question, lol).  We got engaged on May 7, 2010 in New Orleans.  We are from Louisiana, we are both in school.  I'm majoring in elementary education, he's in criminal justice.

I found this forum while looking for realistic pictures of the Carribean Village rooms at the resort.  I read some pretty scary reviews and now I'm wandering if I made a bad decision in booking the Carribean Village honeymoon junior sweet.  I called the resort to see about switching villages but they are totally booked for our stay, so now I'm stuck.  Any words of wisdom?

Oh, Im getting married June 2, 2011 (very soon)!  Yay! I'm so excited!  I literally dream about this trip at night.  We decided to go with the vision in white theme.  We are getting married at sunset... I think that's 5:00 p.m.  We were originally getting married at 3 but the new $600 promotion became available and we jumped on it.  The ceremony will be small, only the two of us, his parents and his sister, my parents and my sister (a total of 6 guests).

Hi Ladies,

My name is Sophia and I'm getting married June 2, 2011 at Beaches Turks and Caicos.  We will be getting married at sunset (5 pm) due to the new $600 sunset price.  I decided to go with the Vision in White theme. I am super excited!  It will be an intimate ceremony with only 6 guests.  We are doing the 3hr reception.

I found this forum while searching for realistic pictures of the Carribean Village rooms.  I read some scary reviews of these rooms on other websites and now I'm doubting my decision in booking the Honeymoon Junior Suite in the Carribean Village.  I called the resort, but the entire resort is booked during our stay, so I can't switch villages.  Any testimonies?  Advice?

Welcome Sophia!  You will find lots of answers here to whatever questions you may have!

I'm sure some of the girls will chime in about your concerns of the Carribean Village.  I am getting married May 21st and we picked the Carribean Village because we wanted to be close to the beach.  My Travel Agent was there recently said it's very nice.  So I think you'll be okay. :)

I wanted to give you a heads up - the Beaches Wedding sales kit has changed and many of the themes have reduced prices. Also if you're booking as a group - the added amenities have changed. I'm having issues attaching files, so if you want an updated copy just send me a PM....cheesy.gif

Sooo...we went and met with our invite lady today. Going into it I definitly thought i wanted Boarding Pass invites, i literally have been researching, going through every thread on here, and printing many different pictures out. Well, i walked in her office, and lterally that idea was out the window in a matter of 5 minutes!!! We enden up going with a pocketfold, with burlap, raffia, and starfish on the outside, with pictures of T&C mounted on the insides with other natural elements...SO ME!!!! They sound kinda all over the place, but they are so customized and embelished I think they will be amazing! Cant wait to get my sample in the next week or two!

Hi Sophia! I am getting married two days after you! I have 9 rooms booked and the hotel then sells out.. ugh so I wont be getting the 10 room group promo's. I have changed EVERYTHING about this wedding since being on this website! I went from the Caribbean village room and the vision in white package with the 30 min reception to.......

moved to the French Village, cancelled the vision in white package and switched to the BB, adding the white arch, sand ceremony, hot pink petals, DVD, doing my own bouquet, and now the 2 hour private reception. Still contemplating on doing the 3 hour one (cause I think I want to be in my dress as long as I can haha!!  I guess the more I read about everything I changed my mind on what I felt would be best for my group. Im doing the TTD session with Brilliant photography the Monday after the wedding. As far as pictures from Beaches, I will just see how many I like and pick a package while I am there. Im having soo much fun doing the welcome bags and will attempt to work on my bouquet this weekend with real touch flowers from Hobby lobby because I do not care for the BB bouquet at all and Monica told me a few days ago it is 275.00 to upgrade.

Hi Carolandchad,

What made you change to the French Village?  I would love to change villages but since the resort is booked, I can't.  I'm going with the vision in white theme; did you save a lot of money by switching (If this is none of my business, please don't reply)?  I'm going with the 3hr reception, mainly for the cocktail hr.  I'm going to be staying in my dress the entire time.  I feel like with all the money paid for this dress, I wanna wear it as much as I can!

After reading so much about Brilliant, I am contemplating switching my photography package from Beaches to Brilliant.  I alread paid for the 18 (5x7s) for $410 (REDICULOUS!) and my theme comes with 12 (5x7s) and the standard video.  I was thinking about cancelling the additional 18 and getting some from Brilliant.  There work seems to be 100 x better!

I been hearing a lot about those real touch flowers, what are they?  I looked up the price of my bouquet and its over $300 (ouch)!

I just kept reading so many reviews about the Caribbean Village that it scared me. I guess it is a 50/50 shot, half the people say its ok and half say no way. Most of my wedding party is in the French village because that was all they had left so that was the final factor to me. The Vision in white theme when I booked it was 2900.00, so with the 650.00 arch, 175.00 rose pedals, 200.00 for the two extra BB tables decorated, 100.00 Sand Ceremony, 500.00 DVD and 850.00 for the reception is pretty much the same cost except I dont have the pictures included. I basically just re-arranged how I spent my money. I will have the BB cake and the tables will be less decorated in the BB theme but everyone says they are pretty anyway. I stayed at the Sandals in Jamacia so I am familiar with the Beaches photography as it is the same and its nothing great at all, thats why I did the TTD. I will want some pics of the ceremony of course so I will have to go with SOME of the Beaches photography but you can always pick that package while you are there. :) So the 1 hour cocktail reception is included in the 3 hour private reception? How does that work? Have you picked your menu yet?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
