Natalie and Trivera - thank you so much for your responses!  All the ladies here are so helpful, I'm loving this forum.  I spoke to my TA and she said that I can change the date, but the rates would increase (this was expected).  She then sent me the new rates for the new dates I requested, and the increase wasn't too bad, but she said I need to let her know ASAP if I want the change.

I emailed Susana and resubmitted the reservation date request form for the new dates and asked her to respond yesterday or this morning.  I understand she's busy, but the very least should say that she got my email and will get back to me.  I called her today and spoke to Lianny and her boss, Marlene? asking them to pass the message on to Susana to get back to me today.  I told Marlene that when I spoke to Susana a couple days ago, she said it's not up to her to change the date and see if it's available, it's up to Marlene.  Marlene seemed confused as to why would Susana said that...I really hope they understand my sense of urgency in a response soon...eeek!!!  How soon after did you ladies submitted the date reservation request form that you got a confirmation form back?  I thought the date was original confirmed after I submitted the form since Susana said yes, the date's available, but she said I have to wait for a confirmation form from them...

Coco - the very first time I asked Susana to check for date availability, she emailed me with 3 dates and time along with it, so I don't know why your WC wouldn't let you know the time.

Btw, congrats to everyone here on your engagement!! =)

Ladies I received a response from Susan in regards to the confusion with the Tangerine Package. As coco previously mentioned the top of the Tangerine Package mentions for up to 35 guests however the private dinner reception indicates for 25 guests. Anyway see below:

Good evening Tamara,

Sorry this is a mistake, The tangerine package includes a private reception for up to 35 people.

For any further assistance please contact me.

teena it took me three weeks before i got a confirmation/deposit transfer form with my date and time.

Sunny - Does Bar Higuey need any lights?  I was thinking of doing a lot of floating candles on my tables and I see lights in the decorated pictures...I dont want to spend more money on lights! :)

Hi Girls!! I'm new to the site. I'm recently engaged as of April 2012. I'm hoping to have my wedding at BBP October 2013. I loved all the feedback I've seen so far. Just reading the posts have been helpful in wrapping my head around this. I have personally stayed at BBP so I know first hand how beautiful the resort is. I look forward to exchanging information and ideas with all of my fellow BBP Brides!! cheesy.gif

thanks natalie!!  susana responded to my email woot.gif!!!  my god, i felt like i found gold when i saw her response!  she said my may date is available to reserve.  i guess now all i have to do is wait for her to send confirmation/deposit transfer form?  i should be ok to have my group flights booked by my TA, right?  have any of you ladies experienced the WC telling you a date is available, then you reserve it, and then they tell you later that it's not available anymore before sending you the confirmation/deposit form?

what other information did you ladies get from your WC between the time the date's reserved, to the time when you got your confirmation?

Hi Teena... I haven't heard of that happening to any of the brides on this forum...She needs to send you the bank info so you can send wire and then you send her a copy of the bank receipt so she can confirm with accounting that the deposit was received ... After that you will get your final confirmation!!!! After I paid the deposit I started asking more questions about decorations, prices of additional things such as DJ, pictures, etc... Congrats on getting the date by the way! That's such a big relief!!! :)

Thanks for the info Disazaja! I love the photobooth idea and i am actually surprised and happy they have the option but $350 for only an hour kinda stinks cool.gif. As for the group rates it also took me some time. I kept going to my TA and she kept saying rates werent available yet and then like 2 months after they were available and it took them like a month to finally email her the group rates. A couple weeks after i went in to lock in my group rates and she said they had "updated" group rates and she called that day infront of me to Travel impressions and the lady emailed her right after the revised rates and it took about 4 days to get a contract with how many rooms i blocked and what the deposit would be. So i sent in my deposit. I also had contact with Marlene regarding my wedding confirmation. MY MOH actually called pretending to be me since i've been so busy with work and marlene said not to worry my date was confirmed and they are just waiting for my wire transfer and once i give them a copy of my reciept then my date and time will "officially" be confirmed. My MOH stressed both date and time were being confirmed and she said yes.

Has anyone started the WEDO wedding documentation yet?!

natalie,

Not sure what you mean about Bar Higuey needing lights?  You mean in addition to the ones already there?  We did not ask for/bring any additional lights to what was already there.  I think our centerpieces had little votive candles included (ah, I already don't remember - I knew the table decorations weren't worth worrying about even though I did :) but there was plenty of light in the space, and once the dancing got going, we turned out most of the lights and it was still fine.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
