Congrats!!  The gazebo by the pool is at the end of the walkway between two pools, so you'll have onlookers for sure.  We didn't have our ceremony there, but we did walk down there afterward to have our pictures taken with our wedding party, and people in the pool would gather and cheer you on.  It was kind of nice though, I got a few congrats from strangers.

I will try to attach a picture, hopefully it works...it's a picture of us by the pool gazebo (excuse our kiss), and you won't see much but a big piller beside us.  But that pillar was photoshopped by my brother to be bigger, because the original photo had a guy in speedos from afar in the background, and he extended the pilar to cover him.

Here's a short clip of the walkway between the two pools, you'll see the gazebo at the end of it.

I looked at the Hard Rock also and hated the outrageous quotes I was getting!!! I am having the ceremony on the pier and Susana told me 55 is the max on the pier. You will not go wrong with your wedding at BBPD. They've done such amazing jobs here. I have not read one review where the girls have regretted their decision in this resort. Welcome!!!

Hello Jali,

I hope your dad is doing much better now! (I read all the posts & remembered that you had postponed your wedding into 2014 because of this)

Yes the Hard Rock looks awesome, some of my family travels there regularly but they are Palace members. The group rates are seriously sooo expensive. We were worried about the rest of our guests having to pay so much or just not being able to afford it. BBPD does not look like we are comprising at all, it is a huge resort with a lot of amenities & I'm so excited! We've decided to push the wedding into April/May of 2014 since we are basically starting to plan all over again at another resort. It is hopefully also cheaper than going in the peak season.

55 on the pier? That seems like a decent amount. All of the pictures I have found online show 3 rows of 5 chairs on each side, so a total of 30. But if she told you 55, I sure hope that is true! I absolutely love the look of the ceremony at the pier, even though I'm guessing the 2014 price for this will go up from the $500 (Let's hope not!)

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hi Alycamille,

I don't know how many people can fit the pier (which looks amazing from the pictures they posted up on their facebook page), but I remember from reading somewhere or maybe speaking to Susana, that to have ceremony on the pier, they will charge you extra.  Maybe a couple hundred dollar on top of whatever wedding package you pick, or more.  I could be wrong, but I could've sworn I asked her about this because when I saw those pier pictures, I actually considered changing my garden gazebo ceremony location to the pier.  So just be prepare for that.  Also, you may want to take into consideration for your guests.  Having your ceremony at the pier wouldn't have any shade or shelter for your guests, so they would be in the bright sun for the entire ceremony.  Some people may not mind, but if it's a blazing hot sunny day, it could get uncomfortably sweaty for your guests and your fiance, especially if he's wearing a suit.  I picked the garden gazeo because there's more privacy, so no onlookers from the beach in their speedos taking pictures of you, or ruining your pictures, but also, the gazebo is big enough to hold your guests and provide them with shade.  I went to Jamaica last year for a wedding, and the ceremony was outdoor, no shade or shelter, and they didn't provide any fans for the guests, so we were all drenched in sweat, and all got burnt.  It was pretty digusting.

Hi Teena,

Congrats on your wedding by the way, the surprise dance was so cute!

Yes, I have read on here that it is an extra $500 to have your ceremony on the pier (or also on the rooftop lounge). Like you, I absolutely fell in love with the idea after seeing photos, so I am prepared to pay the price! Well as long as it can accomodate the amount of guests we have haha.

I am also concerned about the hot-ness factor, but I figured that at least out on the pier, you get more of a breeze. I am also considering the garden gazebo, as I love the privacy & intimacy factor. I guess I'll wait on Susana to get back to me to even see if my date is available.

Thanks for your info!

if anyone of you are worried about it being hot (like i am and i even picked the garden gazebo) I wanted to let you know about an etsy seller who made me the cutest fan programs and they really are quality (as in both style and they actually really work well).  Here is a pic of mine

This is just the front, you flip it over and it keeps going. But they were such a great price and she was easy to work with and helped me design them in what fonts and colors i wanted. Anyways, just something I thought might be useful cause i see many of you are concerned with the heat during the ceremony!

Here is her store link.

I saw the peacocks when Marlene showed me the location when I met with her.  The peacocks are always around that area, so I'm sure you'll see them for your wedding.  I didn't notice it on my wedding, but my guests did and took pics with it.

Hey girls...

I actually booked the pier for May 2, 2014. I was told the amount of guests that fit are 50. I was also quoted $500 to have the ceremony there. I'm just really hoping my guest count doesn't go over the 50...lol Which at this time, it seems like it is!!! I love the idea of the pier of how private and tropical it looks, fell in love with it as soon as I saw the pics!

Hello Ladies,

I'm pretty new to this,  just returned from BBPD, our wedding is in October in the Chapel.  I was just a little nervous about the resort.  Our first choice was The Hard Rock, but there insane prices scared our guest..;(  We originally had Lianny as our Coordinator thanks to Parish i found out that she no longer worked at BBPD.  I got to  meet all the ladies and after receiving a emailed that Helen was going to be our new WC, it changed with in a week to a new one.  Arisquelmy Rosario, is their new member.   she has many previous years of experience and is learning the ropes pretty quickly.  Not sure if anyone got married this weekend, because i saw about four different weddings..WoW.. It rain really hard on one of them..;(( boomer,, i believe the reception was going to be out doors on the roof top, i believer the H Bar.  The Resort is amazing.  I'm glad we choice the BBPD.  All the staff were friendly, food was great.  We ate at La Fuente, Steak House, Japanese & Seafood, everyday we did the Buffet for Breakfast & Lunch.  We also stood at the Adults only side for two nights & had Breakfast and Lunch there.  We also did a few water activities, which were FREE..Paddle boats & Kayaking.  Im not good at reviews,,sorry.;(( i hope it helped..;))

No worries Brides,,, The ladies at the Wedding Center work very hard to make everything special!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
