@Mochamakes3

I'm with ya!!  It just blows my mind that people have so much to say about someone else's plans!  Not cool.

@Sallee

I love that concept!!

The bottom line is: If people want to participate in YOUR DAY, then they have to be on YOUR SCHEDULE! Period. I'm not asking anyone when they're available, if they like the resort or location, if they are ok with being outside, if they can afford it, etc..... Its up to me and my man! B/c its funny how people will whine about being broke, but they will be spending large sums on Christmas. Watch!  I aint thinking about them. Quite frankly, we could just elope and that would be much easier. So they should be thanking us for inviting them! :)

OMG I know how you feel, I agree with you 100% it's your day and if they can't make it a priority then it's there loss. We just booked our date and we were so excited to let our friends and family know. My FI's sister said oh well I can't go that week cus I will have exams... she also said I thought I told you that I would only be able to go early in the month!!!

Some people will never be happy no matter what you do! We just have to say... it's our day and as long as were happy with our decision to have a destination wedding then that's all that matters:)

Whoa... sorry to vent, guess I was holding that one in!! Lol

Its so selfish and inconsiderate for people to expect you to accommodate them on your day!  If you wanna participate, you have to be on my schedule. Just that simple.

We are doing a Destination Wedding regardless of who shows up!

I know i'm not the only one who feels this way :)

I happen to be a VERY fearful flier but guess what? I'm doing my destination wedding in Mexico! If I can plan an entire wedding in Mexico then a honeymoon in Jamaica despite my fear of flying, they should be able to suck it up and get to your wedding! Doctors will prescribe drugs for that sort of thing!

I agree! My dad doesn't like to fly but he will get over it and he will fly for me. If he doesn't I am ok with that because its our day and we will do what we want. My best friend wants to do destination but she won't because her FI's father is afraid to fly. I told her the same things you ladies are saying. He can decide whether or not he wants to go.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
