We're getting married the same day!! Ours is the 16th too. Planning is going okay. We have our locations and menu picked out as well. I have my dress, bridesmaid dresses and the guys pants. I'm now on a mission to find lime green/apple green ties. Not easy finding the right shade. How are your plans coming?

Wow!! This is so exciting! What time is your ceremony? Where are you having it? Where is your reception going to be?

Our ceremony is at 4:00 at Coral Beach and reception is at 6:30 at Playa Azul. We will probably head to the disco later at night I think. We have the menu picked out, the cake, and the flowers.

I need to make a playlist for the reception still because we are bringing our ipod for music.

We hired Ivan Luckie for our photographer. Are you using the resort photographers or bringing in someone?

I found her through this forum... there's a banner somewhere around here that pretty much says "click here to find a TA" so I filled out that form and she got in touch with me.  Or you could just look her up on here.

Whoever you end up using, I'd suggest contacting 2 or 3 that people recommend and see which one of them you feel the most comfortable with.  You're going to need to trust them with quite a bit, so the comfort level is really important.

Hey. thanks soo much. I ended up going with weddingholiday.com. Their offices are a 10 minute drive from my home. I feel more comfortable to speak with someone face to face. That way is anything goes wrong i know where to go. I already tried DW.com and tehy gave me the runaround. It took me 5 months to get a quote for my guests. We started off cheap and it went up by $300 buck a person. I was not impressed. Anyways thanks again.

Oh wow, I would not be impressed either!  I tried a couple different ones who gave me some insane numbers too.  Not sure how some of these people even became travel agents!

Glad you found someone you're happy with... good luck with the planning!

Hey, My ceremony is at 5:00 at Playa Azul and my reception will be at around 7:15ish at Coral Beach. We're doing the opposite of each other LOL.

We may head to the disco as well, but I think we'll just see where the night takes us. Maybe we'll run into each other! We picked out the menu and I know what cake I want, but haven't told them that part yet. As for a photographer, we booked Sascha Gluck. There was no way I was going with the resort photographer. After all, they're going to be my only lasting memories of our wedding and I wasn't impressed with the quality of their work. For reception music we're doing the ipod thing as well. We started working on a playlist, but it is no where near finished.

How did you pick out your flowers? Did you send them a picture or something? Or did they send you some? Also, what food did you guys end up choosing? When are you arriving in Mexico?

Another Toronto bride here. Getting married January 24, 2011 at the Azul Sensatori in Mexico. So far we have the BM's dresses, GM clothes, groom's suit, my dress, and 57 people booked and counting. As for other planning....it's starting, although I feel I might be a bit behind. Going in to see our TA about the plans on Thursday, she has been directly coordinating with our WC, which suits me just fine. In case anyone needs a TA in the Toronto area, Weddings By Oceans, has been helpful to us so far, and they have managed to get us a get price for our trip and help get us other discounts.

Lime green ties. Try Le Chateau (men's department) or Stars. (not sure if you have them in your area, but they carry almost any color) Good luck.

Thanks murmel!! I'll definitely check those places out. I'm looking for ties that are similar to the inside of a lime/apple green, yet on the brighter side (if that makes any sense). Still looking for that right shade. Not too pale, but not too dark. I'm thinking I'm going to have to bring my own chair sashes down as well. The ones my WC emailed to me were waaaaay olive. Won't mix with my colour scheme. My bridesmaids are wearing bright fuschia, so olive green definitely won't go.

It is tricky! If I see any around I'll let you know. How many do you need anyway? (a friend of mine got married last year, and they originally had lime green ties, but then went with purple. I'll email her and see if she still has them around.

On another note, if there are any Toronto brides who want to order paper laterns for cheap I am ordering from http://www.asianideas.com/lanterns2.html in the next day or so. If you want to jump onto the order we could share shipping costs. Just PM and let me know!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
